Requirements:
Knowledge of static spray dryer process, pasteurization process, and mixing of diverse milk ingredient.
Experience in interpretation and development of piping diagrams and instrumentation (DTI), process flow diagram
development, and raw material and energy balances.
Experience in integration and start-up of food industry process equipment.
Knowledge of selection and validation of food industry equipment, preferably in the dairy industry.
Knowledge of process automation (instrumentation, automatic sanitary valves, etc.).
Ability to work and develop projects in teams.
Knowledge of ISO and FDA regulations (good manufacturing practices), QC, HACCP, AIB, Statistic tools, development
and control of KPIs performance
Knowledge of standards of work, ecology, and health regarding facilities and equipment (regulatory compliance).
Experience in implementation, control, and improvement, of process mixed seal, technology of dust operation, food
canning, pasteurization, and homogenization processes.
Knowledge of statistics and experimental design.
Experience in qualification of facilities, equipment, and process.
Experience in automation to manipulate process set points
Product development.
At least 6 years of experience

FOOD SCIENCE AND HUMAN NUTRITION

Description:
Iowa State University seek applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in Food Processing at the Assistant Professor level
in the department of Food Science and Human Nutrition. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a productive research
program with strong extramural support in food processing and the bioeconomy (biofuels and biobased products). Speci c research areas
that t most closely with departmental plans include: new processing technologies to fractionate crops into ingredients for food, feed and
biobased products; development of added value co-products and reduction of costs of bio-mass treatment; technologies for new food
products with enhanced health and functional properties; fermentation of grain and lignocellulose for fuels and industrial chemicals; protein-
based adhesives, plastics and composites; vegetable oil lubricants, fuels and oleochemicals; and biocomposite material.
Multidisciplinary research opportunities exist through the various centers on campus which include: the Biorenewables Initiative of the
Of ce of Biorenewables Programs, the Center for Crops Utilization Research (CCUR), the Institute for Food Safety and Security, the
Center for Designing Foods to Improve Nutrition (CDFIN), and the NIEHS Center for Research on Dietary Botanical Supplements. Start-
up funds for research are available and additional start-up funds may be available from the Of ce of Biotechnology. A substantial food
processing/biobased products laboratory is available. The successful candidate also will teach and develop food processing courses,
supervise graduate students, and participate in departmental programs including international activities. The position is available August
16, 2008. The salary is competitive and is accompanied by an excellent bene ts package.
Required Quali cations: Ph.D. in Food Science, or closely related area, must be able to teach food processing related classes at the
undergraduate and graduate levels.
Preferred Quali cations: Postdoctoral experience in academia, government, or industry; food processing and pilot plant research
