XL-10M Wire Gasket Installation Instructions for Villain

Disassembly
1. Unsolder the motor wires.
2. Gently lift the heat sink from the XL-10M speed control leaving the heat
sink attached to the water lines. This is to aid in the removal of the speed
controller. (see pic #1)
3. Remove the two 2x6RST on/off screws and the on/off switch.
4. Lift the XL-10M speed controller from the radio box separating the
speed controller from the double-sided tape.
5. Remove the old gasket from the radio box by pushing gasket towards
the inside of the radio box. Note: The wires can remain inside the gasket
during this task.
6. Pull the gasket off of the wires.
Assembly
1. Feed the battery connector and motor wires through the opening in
the wire gasket. (See pic #2 for orientation)
2. Insert the wires into their proper locations in the gasket (all wires should
be straight with no overlapping).
3. Place a small amount of silicone grease (#1647) where the wires contact
the gasket. This is to aid in sealing, and to help with the final positioning
of the wires. Also apply the grease around the outside of the gasket
where it will contact the edges of the opening of the radio box.
4. Feed the wires through the opening in the radio box, and push the
gasket into the radio box until it snaps into place. Push evenly around
the outside of the gasket to ensure that the gasket is securely seated
into the radio box. Position the wires (if necessary) so they are even and
not overlapping. (See pics #2 & #3)
5. Reinstall the XL-10M speed control into its original position in the radio
box using a new piece of double-sided tape. Tip: Clean the bottom of
the speed control and the mounting surface for best results.
6. Gently place the heat sink back onto the XL-10M speed controller,
fitting the metal FETs between the heat sink fins. Be gentle with the
heat sink to avoid cracking. (See pic #4)
7. Reinstall the on/off switch with the two 2x6RST screws.
8. Solder the motor wires back onto the electric motors. Use the wiring-
diagram below as a guide. This completes the installation.
