2 The Power Engineering Society (PES) welcomes you to its 2007 General Meeting. The confer-
ence, with its theme "Powering the Future, Today," will provide an international forum to address
policy, infrastructure and workforce issues. PES gratefully acknowledges the support of the con-
ference host utility Tampa Electric Company (TECO) and our meeting contributors.
CONFERENCE LOCATION/THE HUB
Conference registration, major luncheons and receptions, will be held in the Tampa Convention
Center and the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel. Technical sessions and committee meetings will
be held in these two facilities and in the nearby Embassy Suites Tampa.
Ballroom A and the Ballroom A Foyer at the Convention Center will be referred to throughout this
program as The Hub.
NEW ATTENDEES ORIENTATION SESSION
A short orientation session will familiarize new attendees to a PES General Meeting. The session
will provide an understanding of the various types of technical sessions, committee meetings,
technical inspection trips, and social events. At the end of
