Central Vermont Public Service Corporation

January 16, 2008

The following list details those aspects of the Vermont Utilities Service Requirements
where CVPS has chosen specific methods within the broader methods allowed in the
Manual. This list applies to the version of the Manual printed in January 2008. This list
applies only to installations in CVPS territory which are intended to be supplied by
CVPS Distribution Lines. If the project is in another Utilitys Service Territory this list
does not apply. Contact the appropriate Utility to see if they have made an analogous
list. The Manual includes a list of Utilities and their Service Territory.

201B
CVPS uses its computerized Customer Information System (CIS) and Work
Management System (WMS) for entry of customer load information. However,
Drawing 501 provides a good guide for the customer in gathering information.
CVPS uses Microstation Cadd and prefers site plans in the .DGN format.
However, other formats may be acceptable.

403

CVPS requires that meters be mounted on the building structure in normal
circumstances. In certain circumstances pole metering is available. Those
circumstances include that the pole is to be in a location convenient for meter
reading; that the meter is not exposed to excessive pedestrian or vehicle traffic;
that the pole is not encumbered with primary takeoffs or additional conduit risers,
which make a future transfer to a new pole more difficult; and, that there is no
intent to install time-of-day metering equipment.

501

CVPS Line Extensions are constructed in accordance with the companys Line
Extension Tariff.

503

Right-of-Way Easements are required for all CVPS owned Line Extensions.

511G
CVPS provides conduit stand-off brackets for riser pole installations.

513B1c
For road crossings the depth of the trench may be in excess of the requirements
of Paragraph 512C in order to provide frost protection and appropriate burial
depth at the ditch line. The preferred method is #4; however, circumstances
may require methods #1, 2 or 3. Requirements made by the town will take
precedence.

for additional cable size and length options, that apply to CV
Customers.

D202
CVPS requires that meters be mounted on the building structure in normal
circumstances. The Pole Metered Underground Service shown on Drawing 202
is available in certain circumstances. Those circumstances include that the pole
is to be in a location convenient for meter reading; that the meter is not exposed
to excessive pedestrian or vehicle traffic; that the pole is not encumbered with
primary takeoffs or additional conduit risers, which make a future transfer to a
new pole more difficult; and, that there is no intent to install time-of-day metering
equipment. A disconnect is required on all pole metering installations. This
disconnect shall not replace the main disconnect on ordinary structures. If within
30 feet, it may serve as the main disconnect for a mobile home.

D203
Refer
to CVPS Standards Book (STD 2125) for additional information.

D204
CVPS requires that meters be mounted on the building structure in normal
circumstances. The Pedestal Metered Underground Service shown on Drawing
204 is available in certain circumstances. Those circumstances include that the
pedestal is in a location convenient for meter reading; that the meter is not
exposed to excessive pedestrian or vehicle traffic; and, that the pedestal is
substantially constructed for a long life. A disconnect is required on all pedestal
metering installations. This disconnect shall not replace the main disconnect on
ordinary structures. If within 30 feet, it may serve as the main disconnect for a
mobile home. The CVPS Designer shall make the determination of whether a
meter pedestal is appropriate, and, if so, where it shall be located.

The customer
is responsible for providing all materials other than the meter. See CVPS
