Making Great
Connectors Even
Better!
Do you know how to
make these premium-quality
connectors even better? Too often,
prototypers use pliers or an incorrect crimper
to fasten wire to pin. When the plier tips are
too wide, pin shapes become distorted. Even a
slight distortion can prevent the pin from
seating in the connector properly, which leads
to poor connections. An improper crimper can
either under-crimp, leading to future wire
separation; or over-crimp, leading to fatigued
pins that eventually break apart.
Be sure you use the right crimper for the job.
For instance, be sure to use P/N 99442CE on
page 258 for the crimp pins on this page. Then
you can be assured the quality of your work
will be as great as the quality of the connectors.
