Installation instructions for the TJ-CLAMZ
The Body Clamz are designed to sit on top of the factory body mount bracket
but under the factory rubber bushing. Installing the Clamz is very similar to
installing a body lift. Follow these instructions for an easy install.
1. Loosen all 11 body mounts but leave the bolts in place.
2. Starting with one side, remove the 3 side body mount bolts and lower
rubber bushings. Jack up the body using a oor jack and a block of wood
under the tub or rocker protection. Raise the body up enough to remove
the top rubber bushings.
3. Set the Clamz bracket on all 3 body mount brackets and reinstall the
rubber bushings. (See Pic 1) Lower the body onto the rubber bushings
making sure all bushings are seated correctly with the bushing going
through the Body Clamz and factory bracket.
NOTE: If the large hole in both the Clamz bracket and the factory body mount
bracket dont align enough to insert the rubber bushing fully, slight trimming of
the factory body mount bracket might be needed.
4. Mark the drilling location of 2 side holes per Clamz using a transfer punch.
Raise the body and remove the Clamz brackets before drilling. Once
drilling is completed, re-install the Clamz bracket, top rubber bushing and
lower the body into place. Install a 3/8 bolt, 2 at washers and a 3/8 nut
per hole and tighten.
5. Install the lower rubber bushing and bushing bolts but do not tighten at this
time. [See Pic 2]
6. Move to the opposite side and repeat steps 2 through 5.
7. Once all the holes have been drilled and the weight of the body is resting
on the bushings, tighten all body mounts to OEM specs.
8. Install skid plates using 5/16 at head bolt, at washer and nut and tighten.
