FLINTPATCH
(Wet/Dry) Rubberized Flashing Cement
Description: FlintPatch Flashing Cement is an asbestos-free flashing cement, compounded with
a carefully formulated blend of rubber-reinforced asphalt, mineral fibers, and refined solvents.
FlintPatch is manufactured to a heavy, pliable consistency for ease of application by trowel.
FlintPatch provides a strong, durable, elastomeric coating which exhibits excellent adhesion
and high resistance to water and weathering. FlintPatch is composed of special chemical
ingredients that give it a unique water displacement quality (Wet/Dry). FlintPatch dries to a
tough, flexible, waterproof and corrosion proof rubber coating that gives maximum protection
and excellent performance over wide ranges of temperature and weather conditions.
FlintPatch is available in three consistencies: Summer, Semi and Winter.
Uses: FlintPatch Flashing Cement is a general purpose asbestos-free flashing cement for
repairing leaks in shingles, concrete, metal or asphalt roofs, flashings on walls, chimneys,
flues, skylight flashings, downspouts and cornices. FlintPatch is ideal for sealing cracks in
concrete and brick, as a joint filler for pre-cast roof slabs and for general purpose use in
maintenance of exposed buildings and structures.
Product Advantages:
1. Use in wet or dry conditions
2. Excellent low temperature flexibility
3. SBS additive for long-term flexibility
4. Resists shrinkage and cracking
5. Outstanding adhesion to vertical and
horizontal surfaces
6. Excellent lap cement

Coverage
FlintPatch Product Features:
Consistency: A smooth rubber-like trowel consistency which will readily spread on and adhere
to vertical and horizontal surfaces without sagging.
Character of Dried Film: Excellent adhesion to masonry, steel, cured concrete, shingles,
asphalt roofing, skylight flashings and a variety of other surfaces.
Film Performance Characteristics: The dried film retains its elasticity and ductility so that the
material will resist extreme variations in temperature and weather.
Sag Resistance: Excellent resistance to flow at high roof temperatures on vertical surfaces.
Homogenized: Thoroughly mixed and consistent throughout.
Consistency: FlintPatch is always smooth and of a trowel consistency.
Surface Preparation: All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from oil, grease, dust, dirt, loose
paint or other foreign matter. Excess water should be removed, if possible, before application
of FlintPatch Flashing Cement.
Application:
To Repair Cracks, Breaks and Blisters:
1. Spread FlintPatch Flashing Cement over the damaged area at an average thickness of 1/8".
2. Embed cotton, glass or polyester membrane reinforcement in the FlintPatch Flashing Cement.
3. Apply an additional coat of FlintPatch Flashing Cement over the entire patch at an average
thickness of 1/8".
To Seal Crevices and Small Roof Areas:
1. Cut spout of FlintPatch caulk tube to desired bead size and puncture inner seal below spout
with a long nail or screwdriver. Insert tube in standard, open cradle caulking gun.
2. Apply a bead of FlintPatch.
Care of Tools: Tools and other equipment should be thoroughly cleaned with mineral spirits,
taking necessary precautions when handling combustible materials. Use a waterless hand
cleaner to clean hands.
Store product indoors, in an enclosed area protected from the elements, between 50ºF and
100ºF. Protect from freezing. Keep away from heat or flame. Keep containers sealed until use.
Caution: Combustible Mixture. Do not use near open flame. Avoid breathing solvent fumes and pro-
longed contact with skin. Do not take internally. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call a physi-
cian immediately. Keep out of reach of children. Keep container covered when not in use. Do not
