Dear Citizens,
the selective waste collection and domestic compost campaign
weve started in 1996 will continue from january 1st 2003 with a
new system. This is to comply withRonchi decree which imposes
all the Municipalities to reduce and differentiate waste optimizing
the procedure so that only the unrecycleble materials will be brought
to dups. The decree also established there must be at least 35% differentiation of waste.
Certainly the new collection system willl bring some difficolties, but if everyone takes
part, problems can easily be solved.
In fact in these years we already reached a 20% differentiation with the selective waste
collection and the domestic compost.
It will be very important to divide organic fraction from the dry, and increase plastic,
glass, paper differentiation and recycleble materials too.
In order to optimize this type of collection the number of specific containers will be
increased and a door to door collection will pick up organic, dry fractions and garden
waste.
Consulting this pamphlet will be usefull to know and understand in detaile how the new
waste collection operates.

New waste management
The municipality of Sacile, C.I.S.E.S. and Z.I.P.R. founded in 2001 Ambiente e Servizi S.p.A,
a new firm for the management of environmental services, with the objective of providing
ever more efficient services, while looking for ever newer solutions to existing difficulties.
As of January 2003 we will also be starting in Sacile a different way of collecting and dispo-
sing of solid urban waste, which we generally refer to as "rubbish" but that also includes
materials that current tehcnology allows to be recycled as raw materials.
This is an important step forward for a reduction in the use of waste dumps and for impro-
ved relationship with the environment, a step that the municipality of Sacile has decided to
take along with other organizations.
The decision to independently manage on a door-to-door basis - the collection and dis-
posal service involved a major economic investment, but which will undoubtedly allow for
enhanced quality to ensure service based on efficiency at competitive costs.
This new management calls first of all for the separation of the dry part from the humid part
of domestic waste, which will no longer be disposable in normal urban waste dumpsters.
For the dry part, every user will receive a waste bin with a bar code which will allow the ope-
rators to keep track of the number of emptyings, thus providing the data to calculate the rate
that will substitute the old and indistinct waste tax.
There will instead be two options for the disposal of the humid part (organic waste): dome-
stic composting, or door-to-door public collection service with a special waste bin that will be
delivered directly to the home.
Collection methods for other types of waste will remain unchanged.Yard waste and branches
can be taken to the ecological platform in San Giovanni di Livenza or they can be picked up
by using the special container that will be provided on request of the users. For paper, pla-
stic, glass, dead batteries, etc., the traditional containers for separate collection can be used.
We have also set up a users assistance phone line, where you can contact us for clarifica-
tions, advice, or complaints, by calling 0434 842222 from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am
until 12:00 noon.

Practical guide for an urban differentiated waste collection
The dry fraction is the unrecycleble part of urban waste. it gathers
all those materials that can not be recycled with current tecnologies
and therefore are destinated to a dump.
You must put this type of waste in closed bags inside the 70 liters
yellow container that will be given to you and that has an identi-
fication mark of the user.
You must place this container, after 9.00 PM, on the plublic
street
in front of your house the night before the scheduled
day for collection.
The collection will be made twice a week (see page 42 and 43 to single out your days
of collection) in case of midweek holidays the waste will be collected on the next turn.
ATTENTION:
the personnel in charge will not empty your container in case the materials
you have included inside are not according to dry fraction. They will also apply a red label
on which the reason why they have not collected the waste will be specifided.
