Exhibits installed at ALL SEMICON Expositions must comply with the rules and
regulations of the exposition. In the event that exhibitor or exhibit activities are in
violation of the exhibit rules and regulations or are not consistent with the standards of the
exposition, Show Management may require the exhibitor to alter the exhibit either before
the exposition or on-site. Necessary changes are to be made at the exhibitors expense
and are subject to approval.

All exhibit matters and questions not covered by these rules and regulations are subject to the decision
of SEMI Show Management. These rules and regulations may be amended at any time by SEMI. The
original rules and regulations, as well as any amendment to the original rules and regulations shall be
equally binding to all parties affected by them. In the event of any amendment or addition to these rules
and regulations, written notice will be given by SEMI.

Important Notices for 2008

NEW FOR 2008
EXHIBITION HALL 4
SEMICON Singapore 2008 will be held on Level 4, occupying Halls 401 to 404.

EXHIBITOR COMMITTEE
SEMI Singapore has invited 17 Companies to form an Exhibitor Committee in 2006. To become a part
of the SEMICON Singapore Exhibitor Committee that helps shape exhibiting guidelines, please contact
Cindy Chan at cchan@semi.org.

LAST-IN-FIRST-OUT BOOTHS
These Standard Shell Scheme booths are located infront of the freight doors. Exhibitors occupying
Booths 035, 036, 051, 052, 053, 054, 055 can only move-in on 4 May (eve of show) at 1500hrs, and
move-out on 7 May (last day of show) by 1700hrs.

PERFORMANCE BOND SYSTEM
Raw booth spaces where there is no appointed Exhibitor Appointed Contractor (EAC), the exhibiting
company will have to be responsible for any damages to the existing buildings fixtures and fittings.

PE ENDORSEMENT
a) PE Endorsement is needed for structures that either :
- bear substantial load on the ceiling hanging points (eg. Ceiling truss systems) or
- exert load on the ground in order to lift structures above ground level (eg. ground truss systems)

b) PE Endorsements are required to ensure that sufficient due diligence is done by the exhibitors or its
contractors to ensure safety of the visitors, clients and delegates in the halls.

c) PE requirement and submission (at least 7 working days before move in) procedures to
Suntec Singapore for any trussing within the hall, be it floor standing or hanging from
ceiling:
1 original set of the following documents is required:
- plan view of structure / truss / banner frame with all dimensions and labeling
- elevation view of structure / truss / banner frame with all dimensions and labeling
- perspective view of the design
- plan of entire hall / ballroom to indicate markings of the specific rigging with labeling
- a table of calculation on individual loadings of the structure / truss / banner frame

IMPORTANT NOTICES

BOOTH DRAWING APPROVAL
All the exhibitors who have contracted for raw space will be requested to submit booth drawings for
approval by local fire department and SUNTEC Singapore. All Raw Space exhibitors are required to
submit the Exhibitor Appointed Contractor (EAC) application form and Suntec Singapores PE
Endorsement in Section 9 Forms of this manual along with the booth drawing to SEMI no later than

Monday, 3 March.

For two-storey booths, the submission date is no later than Monday, 4 February.

It is the responsibility of the exhibiting company or appointed contractor to ensure that all rules and
regulations are met. Contractors are required to have a layout plan available on-site for review by the
Fire Safety Bureau or SEMI. If any constructed / constructing booth does not comply with any of the
rules and regulations, this booth will be required to make modifications at exhibitors / contractors
expenses.

BOOTH HEIGHT LIMIT
The maximum height for booth construction is 6 metres/20 feet, with the exception of booths under
the fire curtain which is 3 metres. For further clarifications, please contact SEMI Singapore office.

CEILING SUSPENSIONS / HANGING SIGNS
According to facility regulations, exhibits whose structural integrity requires cabling and/or suspension
from the ceiling should not be erected.

HELIUM-FILLED BALLOONS
Helium balloons or blimps of any kind must be approved by SEMI and SUNTEC on a case-to-case
basis, 30 days before the move-in. If it is approved, it must be self-supported to the ground
(without tying to any booth structures and must be cordoned off from the public for safety). If the
lighted balloons or blimps escape and float up to the ceiling, there would be a retrieval charge
ranging from S$800 S$1000.

Normal helium balloons that are for give away or decorative purposes are strictly not allowed.

IDENTIFICATION / SIGNAGE / GRAPHICS
All identification and signage must be at least 1 metre (3) from the back boundary of all booths and 1
metre (3) from the adjoining booths for inline configurations. See page 24 for more information.

NOISE
In general, exhibitors may use sound equipment in their booths so long as the noise level does not
disrupt the activities of neighboring exhibitors. Speakers and other sound devices should be positioned
so as to direct sound into the booth rather than into the aisle. General Rule: Sound and noise
should not exceed 80 decibels. SEMI reserves the right to reduce the sound level, restrict or switch
off any audio/visual display that cause complaints. SEMIs decision is final if such a dispute arises.

QUARANTINE REQUIREMENTS
Quarantine Requirements on Wood Packaging Materials (WPM) of imported consignments. (See TWI
Group Shipping Instructions, Section 3).

RESTRICTED PROMOTION ACTIVITIES
Exhibitors must remain within their own exhibit space when distributing literature, product samples, or
other materials. Company information dissemination or promotion in any way is strictly forbidden at
show entrances, registration areas, seminar rooms, or public areas within the convention facility or
official hotels, which includes hotel room drops. Any flyers, brochures, signs, etc. found in any location
other than the exhibiting company's display space will be removed by show management. The only
exceptions will be for official event sponsors, at the discretion of show management. Please refer to the
Advertising and Promotion section for official opportunities.

TWO-STOREY BOOTHS
Two-storey booths are allowed for peninsula and island booth configurations only A minimum
contracted of eight (8) booths. An exhibitors location and booth plans MUST be pre-approved to build
a two-storey exhibit by Monday, 4 February. (Refer to Two-Storey Booth under this section)

VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES
SEMI Show Management may, at its discretion, eliminate or reduce priority points for violation of these
rules and regulations. In addition, substantial violation of these rules and regulations by the Exhibitor, its
employees, or agents may, at the option of Show Management, forfeit the Exhibitors right to occupy
exhibit space and such Exhibitor shall forfeit to SEMI all moneys paid or due.

It is to your advantage to contact SEMI Show Management prior to arriving on-site with any questions.
Failure to comply with the exposition rules will result in the following loss of priority points.

Upon evidence of substantial violation, SEMI may enter and take possession of the space occupied by the
Exhibitor and may remove all persons and goods at the Exhibitors risk. The Exhibitor shall pay all
expenses and damages that SEMI may thereby incur.


WALL REQUIREMENT
All booths, except island configurations, must provide a full back wall, minimum of 2.5 metres/8 feet in
