Before You Start
These instructions contain only information required to
assemble the wiring harness Kit to 4200/4400 NT & ST
Series Trekers. Please read these installation
instructions and the vehicle Operators Manual
thoroughly before beginning. Especially read information
relating to safety concerns. Also included in the
Operators Manual is important information on operation,
adjustment, troubleshooting, and maintenance for this
attachment (some manual sections do not apply to all
accessories).
A separate Parts Manual for replacement parts can be
purchased from your dealer or available free of charge at
www.landpride.com. Have model and serial numbers
handy when placing an order.

General Information
Some Treker Utility Vehicles may be experiencing a
small drain on the battery when units are parked and not
being operated. Over time this small electrical drain can
deplete the battery to a point that it fails to start the
vehicle. If a unit is experiencing a repeated battery
discharge for no obvious reason, installation of this
simple kit will eliminate that condition for Trekers with
serial numbers indicated below.

Electrical Tape Wire Cutters Wire Stripper Electrical Wire Crimpers Two 7/16" Wrenches Terminal Removal Tool or
a Small Thin Bladed Screw Driver

Initial Preparations
!
CAUTION!
Securely support cargo box in the up position to prevent
injury when working under the cargo box.
1.
Park vehicle on a flat surface, move gear shift lever to
neutral, set park brake and chock front and back of
the right rear wheel to prevent vehicle from rolling.
2.
Raise cargo box fully up and securely support it in
the up position to prevent injury while working on the
wiring harness.
3.
Turn off engine and remove ignition key.
Refer to Figure 1A:
4.
Disconnect the two negative ground wires (black
wires) from the batterys negative post ( - ). Position
the wires so that they cannot touch either post on the
battery.
5.
Locate the 38" long dark green wire provided with the
wiring harness kit.
6.
Locate the fuse panel. On the ST Treker it is located
on the left side panel as shown in Figure 1A. On the
NT Treker it is located behind the fire wall on the
passenger side. The lid is attached with velcro.
Remove lid by pulling out at the top two corners.

Locate the magneto relay inside the Fuse Panel. The
terminal end of the dark green wire will be attached
to the magneto relay in step 12.

8.
Locate voltage regulator mounted to the Treker fire
wall behind the drivers seat. Unplug male end of the
voltage regulator connector from the female end and
remove plastic loom to expose inside wires as shown
in Figure 4A.

9.
Locate the black ground wire leading from the
connector to the main wiring harness. Insert a
terminal removal tool or a small thin bladed screw
driver into the backside of the ground wire connector
slot to release the holding tab. Once the tab has been
released, remove the black ground wire from the
connector by pulling gently. If the terminal does not
release from the connector, reposition the terminal
removal tool and try pulling again on the terminal.

Refer to Figure 6A:
11. Strip 3/8" of insulation from the exposed end of the
black ground. Press closed end connector onto the
striped end of black wire.

12. Unplug magneto connector from magneto relay and
push terminal end of dark green wire into the open
socket in the magneto connector. Reconnect
magneto connector to the magneto relay. Route
exposed end of dark green wire out through the
opening in the fuse panel side wall.

13. Securely plug terminal end of green wire into the
vacant ground slot in connector.

15. Bend the black ground wire back in a u-shape as
shown in Figure 10A. Wrap closed end connector to
the wires with electrical tape as shown in Figure 11A.

16. Replace plastic loom over the electrical wires and
secure with electrical tape. Plug male and female
ends of connector together.

17. Secure dark green wire to main wiring harness loom
with six cable ties provided in the wiring harness kit.

18. Reconnect the two black negative ground wires to
the batterys negative post ( - ).
19. Remove blocking supporting the Treker bed in the up
position.
20. Start Treker and test for operation.
21. Set Treker park brake, place Treker in gear, turn off
engine and remove ignition key.
22. Remove chocks from front and back of the right rear
wheel.
