Model 21052E Loop Power Supply

e field device to be powered to the 24VDC output jacks. Observe proper
polarity. The current monitor jack is normally closed and in series with the output
terminals. If you are not using the current monitor cable, remove the current monitor
cable from the current monitor jack.
To monitor the current in the loop, insert the current monitor cable into the current
monitor jack and attach the other end to the milliamp input of an external milliammeter.
Battery Configurations
The 21052E can operate with throw-away or rechargeable batteries. If throw-away
batteries are being used, it is permissible (and in fact, desirable) to allow the batteries to
completely discharge. If rechargeable batteries are being used, they should not be
discharged below approximately 1 volt per cell, to prevent damage to the cells.
An internal jumper controls the battery cutoff point. If the jumper shorted, the 21052E
will not turnoff when the battery voltage falls below 4V. If the jumper is open, the
21052E will turn off when the battery voltage falls below 4V.
To access the internal jumper, first remove the batteries and then remove the (4) screws
holding the top and bottom covers. There is a single 2 pin jumper on the printed circuit
board. Install (short) the jumper for throw-away batteries. Remove (open) the jumper
for rechargeable batteries. Reassemble the unit and mark the label in the battery
compartment to indicate the configuration.
