1. HULL
1.10 GENERAL CONSTRUCTION
The Builder shall construct, equip, and finish a yacht complete and ready for service, to be
mutually discussed and understood between Owner and Builder before signing the
construction contract. Skilled workmanship shall be guaranteed in keeping with the best
yacht practice and in conformity with plans and specifications.
The boat will be built to ABS regulations, particularly the 1994 Guide for Offshore Ocean
Racing Yachts. The boat will also be built to conform to ORC category 1 regulations and
IMS regulations for cruiser/racers.
The hull shall be constructed with epoxy using vacuum bagging laminating technique.
Laminate to be in Kevlar and S-glass, epoxy resin, and Divinycell (or equivalent) core.
The hull shall be constructed primarily of epoxy resin, URA kevlar/R-glass udrs, E-glass
biaxials, and Kevlar wovens.
All skins to be laid up in one bagging of all plies, with the last fiber ply being followed by
a peel ply. Hull to be post cured at 60 degrees C for 12 hours. Woven and biax laps to be
50mm.
The builder will keep a continuous photographic record to be provided to owner and
designer detailing construction processes.
FINISHING
Hull exterior:
Hull outside painted with Awlgrip.
US Paint #545 EP entire hull
Before applying the Awlgrip topcoats the hull, and surrounding area, shall be at a
temperature of at least 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
Topsides: Topcoat Awlgrip.Bottom: Three coats (minimum) of Epoxy primer prior to
antifouling paint.

The entire hull interior skin and all non-visible fiberglass shall be finished smooth to
eliminate any protruding fiber strands and to eliminate any void
