The Al¯um

Technical Collection is Prescolites family of monochromatic architectural
pendants, multi-lamp recessed accent modules, wall-mounted luminaires, circular
T-5 platforms, four-inch accent luminaires, and Al¯um trak fixtures.
The definition of technical states pertaining to the mechanical arts, especially
pertaining to an art, science, handicraft or the like. The Al¯um Technical Collection
embodies this definition.
It has long been Prescolites mission to provide artistic lighting solutions with
outstanding performance characteristics. This is a tall order, especially considering
the competitive environment that exists in todays marketplace and the increased
pressure on manufacturers to base new product development solely on superfi-
cial market value.
At Prescolite, we feel this is a shortsighted approach. We believe that with extra
research, development, planning, and high-level engineering, we can provide

The Al¯um series was developed with the modern application of

with nouveau craftsmanship and premium performance all

The Al¯um Technical Collections Pendalum pendants,
Multilum recessed accent modules, Lumex circular T-5
platforms, Fourmations four-inch accent luminaires,

The 14" recessed Lumex platform offers the lighting specifier an
innovative and unique alternative to traditional linear fluorescent
products for office, retail, health care, and public circulation appli-
cations. This luminaire was designed around the new 40W and
55W T-5 circular lamps, coupled with an electronic ballast for 120V
or 277V operation. The scale of the lamp affords the opportunity
for precise optics, packaged in an extremely low-profile housing
that is easy to install and less than 6" in depth, making it an ideal
solution for buildings with plenum height restrictions.

Al¯um Technical Collections new T-5 platform, Lumex, is a revolution
in innovative architectural lighting concepts, designed for and powered by
new fluorescent circular lamp technology.
A second generation of the highly successful T-5 linear fluorescent lamp, the new T-5 circular lamp tech-
nology was introduced to U.S. markets just a few years ago, and Prescolite is the first U.S. manufacturer to
offer a complete system capitalizing on this new opportunity. This innovative technology represents a
dramatic improvement in operating characteristics compared to existing T-12 and T-8 circular systems, and
with a diameter of only

", it is 40% smaller than a comparable T-8 system. Available in recessed, surface,
cable, or pendant mounted platforms, Lumex offers a versatile line of new technology lighting solutions for

or square fluorescent products for office, retail, health care, and
public circulation applications. This luminaire was designed around
the new 40W T-5 circular lamp, coupled with a multi-volt elec-
tronic ballast rated for 120V or 277V operation. The scale of the
lamp affords the opportunity for precise optics, packaged in an

in height. This makes the Lumex_S ideal for all surface-mount
applications or projects that require the aesthetic of a compact
luminaire. The surface Lumex also offers an indirect housing
option, which produces a subtle, indirect illumination pattern on
the ceiling plane. The indirect option is available in white, blue, or
red indirect color shutters.

PENDANT PLATFORM

innovative and unique alternative to bulky linear direct/indirect products for
office, retail, health care, and public circulation applications. This luminaire
features the same lamp, ballast, and illumination choices as the surface-
mounted platform. The scale of the lamp affords the opportunity for precise
optics, packaged in an extremely low-profile assembly that is easy to install

" in depth. Each Lumex_P design utilizes a 52 hang-straight
canopy and is supplied with a 19

" stem length. Custom stem lengths can
be ordered up to 12' in length. The canopy mounts to a standard 4" J-box.
The Lumex pendant also offers the same direct/indirect option as the
Lumex_S with blue, red, or white indirect color shutters.

Color Shutter Mounting Detail
COLOR SHUTTERS The Lumex surface, pendant,
and cable platforms can be
specified with a unique color
shutter system. Specify a white,
red, or blue option and receive a
3-part pack of shutters that easily
snap-fit securely onto the back
of the upper reflector. The closer
the Lumex luminaire is mounted
to the ceiling, the more intense
the color will appear.
OPTICAL PERFORMANCE
Exclusively
engineered and manufactured for Prescolite, the
specular clear Alzak C-louver is made with pure
aluminum (99.98%) which provides excellent
efficiency and exhibits sharp cut-off characteristics
that meet I.E.S.N.A. RP-1 recommended
luminance criteria for office lighting.
