Overview

See Section Pushbuttons and indicator lights/SIGNUM 3SB3/Labeling and indicator labels.
The enclosures with 2, 3, 4 and
6 round command points can
each accommodate one
3RK1 4000CD000AA3
(4I/4O) application module and
can therefore have up to four in-
puts and outputs.
The enclosure with four and six
command points can also ac-
commodate a second module
and can therefore be extended
to eight inputs.
Addressing is performed by the
master via the AS-Interface con-
nections or by an addressing
unit via a DC socket.
The module complete with the
contact blocks and lamp hold-
ers is soldered onto an adapter
board and can be easily con-
nected via a special screwed
gland to the AS-Interface sys-
tem (insulation piercing meth-
od).
An external supply voltage is not
necessary if the lamp holders
are fitted with 1 W wedge-base
lamps.
Typical connections
a) Terminal for trapezoidal-sec-
tion AS-Interface cable above
or below (the cable is routed
externally alongside the mod-
ule).
b) Pg screwed cable gland for
AS-Interface cable above or
below (the cable is laid into
the module).
c) Conventional Pg screwed ca-
ble gland for round cable
above or below (the round ca-
ble is laid in and contact is
made via a screw terminal).
AS-Interface
enclosures
with EMERGENCY-STOP
For enclosures with EMERGEN-
CY-STOP, the EMERGENCY-
STOP actuator can alternatively
be wired conventionally using
the AS-Interface F adapter.
With conventional wiring, interro-
gation can be performed via AS-
Interface. In this case, the enclo-
sure with four command points
can only accommodate one ap-
plication module.
Conventional wiring of the
EMERGENCY-STOP is per-
formed via an additional
screwed gland from below.
If the EMERGENCY-STOP is in-
terrogated via AS-Interface, up
to two NC contacts can be se-
lected for the EMERGENCY-
STOP circuit, up to three con-
tacts can be fitted if interroga-
tion is not implemented. One NC
contact is standard.
If the EMERGENCY-STOP is
wired via an AS-Interface F
adapter, the safe module is
mounted above or to the right.
The AS-Interface cable is then
looped on to supply the non-
safe command devices of the
enclosure.
EMERGENCY-STOP
via an
AS-Interface F adapter is only
possible for enclosures with
three, four or six command
points.
Unassigned inputs and out-
puts
If inputs or outputs are not used
in an enclosure, they can be
connected externally to the top
or bottom of the housing via an
additional M 12 socket.
The pin assignments of the M 12
socket must be specified in the
order form supplement.
Example
Enclosure with 3 illuminated
pushbutton units.
E1 to E3 and A1 to A3 are used
in the housing;
E4 and A4 are connected exter-
nally via an M 12 socket.
AS-Interface enclosure
with standard arrangement of
components
With 2 to 3 command points,
for vertical fixing,
with moulded-plastic front rings,
IP 65 degree of protection.
The arrangement of compo-
nents comprises contact blocks
and lamp holders complete with
wedge-base lamps for circuit-
board mounting, circuit board,
application module 4I/4O and
terminal for the AS-Interface ca-
ble.
AS-Interface enclosure with
any desired arrangement of
components
With 2, 3, 4 and 6 command
points, IP 65 degree of protec-
tion.
One command point comprises
an actuator/detector with con-
tact block(s) or a lamp holder in-
cl. lamp with solder pins

Ordering
AS-Interface enclosures fitted
with a customised arrangement
of components can be ordered
using the order form supplement
(see Page 1/102)
. The configu-
ration is specified here, e.g. type
of actuators, contacts or acces-
sories (nameplates, etc.). The
short codes to be entered in the
form are given on
Pages
1/103 to 1/106
. The front panel
module will be supplied fully as-
sembled with the selected com-
ponents.
Price determination
The price is created from the ba-
sic price for the enclosure and
the additional prices that result
from selection of the actuators,
contacts, lamp holders and the
required accessories.
