pH Down Dry Solution If the nutrient pH is too high, this solution
will lower the pH to within range. The range of 5.8 to 6.2 is
considered ideal for most plants.
Grounded Light Timer Automatically turns your HID and fluorescent
lighting systems on and off. Grounded, 15-amp capacity works on all
light systems. Timer has 24 On/Off cycles built in at 15 minute intervals.

HORTICULTURAL LIGHTING GUIDE
Metal Halide (MH) Grow Lights and High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) Blooming Lights belong to the HID (High-Intensity Discharge) family of lights and are used for agricultural lighting because of
their high light output per watt and the spectral distribution of their light. MH bulbs produce an abundance of light in the blue spectrum, which is excellent for green leafy growth. HPS bulbs
emit light in the red-yellow spectrum which triggers hormones in plants to increase flower and fruit production. Hydroasis offers a choice of Metal Halide and High-Pressure Sodium Lighting
Systems by Hydrofarm and P.L. Lights of Holland. Lighting Systems include all the essentials: bulb, socket, reflector, cord and ballast. There are many different bulb and reflector
options available for both lighting systems and most systems can be upgraded to maximize results. These systems are completely pre-wired and ready to hang over your garden. Quick con-
nect ballasts are standard on all lighting systems. Systems are U.L.-listed and come with manufacturers warranty.
METAL HALIDE (MH) LIGHTING SYSTEMS
Metal Halide Systems are for vegetative growth. They emit an intense, bluish-white light that is excellent for growing plants in their vegetative stage. Metal Halide
Lighting Systems are available with the following bulb options: Most systems can be ordered at 220 Volt for an additional cost of $10.00 dollars, except the X-tra Sun
which comes 110/220 volt switchable, as standard equipment.
SUNBURST Lighting System by Hydrofarm
The Sunburst System offers high-intensity lighting for small garden areas. This sys-
tem puts out plenty of light for full-sized plants and will bring out the best in orchids
and other light-demanding plants. The Sunburst features the same four-sided,
wide-angled design and the larger Radiant Reflector Systems. The reflective insert
intensifies and increases light yield. The low-profile, self-contained design is good
for smaller growing areas, as well as shorter growing areas like low ceiling base-
ments, shelves or under benches. Air-Cooling Option for the reflector is available.

DAYSTAR Lighting System by Hydrofarm
Brought to the hobby market from the greenhouse
industry, this system offers ultra high perfor-
mance in a compact size. It is designed with
patented double-wall design to provide 3 way
convection air cooling, uses 6 inch ducting
flanges to allow more air flow than the 4
inch models thereby insuring maximum
cooling potential. It is compact, light weight and used by
professional growers world wide. This reflector is our biggest seller by far.
RADIANT Lighting System by Hydrofarm
The Radiant System
TM
is engineered to
deliver the brightest light to greenhouse
crops. It is constructed with a pre-
galvanized steel shell and is elec-
tro-coat painted for strength and
corrosion-free performance. The
interior of the reflector is four-sided specular
aluminum, designed for maximum light delivery. Air
Cooling Option for the reflector is available. The Radiant 1000-Watt Convertible
System One Ballast, 2 Systems! This system provides the ultimate flexibility for
high-intensity gardeners. At the flick of a switch, the 1000-Watt Convertible Ballast
allows you to go from an MH to an HPS System. You will need to change the bulb, but
you will no longer lose lumens as you do with conversion bulbs.

HYDROFARM LIGHTING SYSTEMS
Daylight Bulbs are full-spectrum bulbs which virtually duplicate the spectrum of sun-
light. They are an excellent light source for propagating seedlings or rooting cuttings and
for supplementing HPS bulbs. They are the whitest MH bulbs available and have a C.R.I.
of 92 and should be used for vegetative growth only, not fruiting or flowering.
Super Bulbs are 10% brighter than the standard MH bulb, with a slight yellow cast
to their light. These bulbs have a C.R.I. of 65.
Agrosun Halide Bulbs offer 38% more light in the red-orange spectrum that induces
flowering sooner than other MH bulbs. These bulbs can be used for both vegetative and
fruiting cycles.
