CenCom Configuration Software
IMPORTANT! CenCom Configuration Software V4.x or higher is designed for use with CenCom Gen
II Amp/Relay Modules only. It is NOT compatible with CenCom Gen I Amp/Relay Modules. For
identification purposes, Gen I modules have a Red label.
Configuration of the CenCom system requires the following:
a PC or laptop computer with a USB port and a CD-ROM drive. This will be referred to as the Host
Computer in this manual.
Windows operating system ( 2000, XP or Vista). Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or greater is also
required. Note: Mozilla Firefox may be used but will require a special plug-in (http://www.whelen.com/
eng_apps/index.php)
The CenCom configuration software will NOT work with Windows95 or with Windows 98. If your
Operating System is Windows95 or Windows98 DO NOT INSTALL the configuration software.

Software Installation
Before the CenCom system can be configured, the configuration software must first be installed onto the host
computer. If the Autorun feature is enabled on your PC, the installation process will begin automatically. If this feature
is disabled, manual installation is required using the following procedure:
1.
Insert the software installation CD into the host computer.
2.
From the Start button, select Run, then click on Browse and navigate to your CD drive.
For Windows Vista (in default mode), from the Start button select All Programs > Accessories > Run. Click on the
Browse... button and select all files.
3.
Highlight CenComArmMultiOSPortal.htm found in the root directory of the installation CD. Click Open and then
OK.
4.
Follow the instructions presented on your browser.
Note: Any missing or outdated Windows system files will be installed or updated automatically by the installation
software.

From the start-up screen, the user must select one of the following procedures:

Create a new configuration.
