Klann, was born on a farm in Prussia, Germany on January 4, 187. In 1898, at the age of 6, he immigrated to America and settled in San Francisco. Since his major education was as a cabinet maker, it was natural for him to find work at a pipe organ firm. August Klann had a very inquisitive and inventive mind, which lead him to design his first chest magnet. This resulted in his first patent in 1904. After the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, he moved to Alliance Ohio to be closer to one of his largest customers, Hillgreen Lane. In Ohio, he earned the respect of many organ builders resulting in a large magnet business employing approximately 50 employees. When another large customer, Barkhoff Organ , moved to Basic, Virginia in 1913, he followed three years later. Basic later merged with Waynesboro. From our conception prior to 1910, during WWI, the great depression of 199, WWII and the 60+ years since, we have been manufacturing pipe organ components for organ builders throughout the world. It's been both challenging and exciting being part of the evolution from mechanical combination and key actions to the solid state organ control systems used today. As we continue to supply both proprietary and custom designed AGO consoles ­ we also offer a broad range of refurbishment services. These vary from being as simple as replacing some of the components and touching up the console exterior to as complex as installing a completely new interior with wiring, testing and console refinishing for a turn-key job. We also continue to supply smaller components such as our new reed switch thumb piston and an improved drawknob. These can be seen on pages 8 and 11, respectively. I hope you enjoy our new catalog. Linden (Custom) Kensington Staunton Stratford Jordan Colonial CoNSolE CoMPoNENTS Music Racks The standard glass music rack with light is 33" wide x 11-3/16" high but can be made to custom dimensions. The built-in fluorescent light is supplied with a solid state ballast. Four types of mountings are available: solid and hinged brackets for console lid, fold down hinge for nameboard, and retractable pins for drawknob jamb mounting (36" wide recommended). All components are available separately. Music Rack brackets, Pin Style The pin style is designed for drawknob consoles. The sockets mount in the jamb return and the spring loaded retractable pins mount in the rack shelf. Mounts directly to the console top, but allows the music rack to hang down in front of the nameboard and to fold out of the way when closing the roll top. They are available with either Syndyne SAMTM units or Peterson PowerTabsTM mounted and wired. When ordering, please specify the following: · Typed or printed stop list and tablet arrangement · Stop board dimensions listing board height, width and location of any extra openings required · Type of wood and finish · Type N or Type W for stop keys and recessed or flat for tilting tablets. Pictured is a pre production unit with the clear housing exposing two 30 ohm coils. This new unit is 1/4" shorter and 40% lighter and can be interchanged with existing Klann DK-56 drawknobs. The armature is reversible for either positive or negative coil common and the redesigned stem allows interchangeability with both Harris and Syndyne head/stem assemblies. This unit is available with either a .156" connector or a .100" connector. All units with the .100" connector are RoHS compliant. 8 CoNSolE CoMPoNENTS Manual Keyboards Klann manual keyboards can be fitted with the key cheeks of your choice ­ square, angled, rounded or Skinner style. They are also available with the toggle spring simulated tracker touch, standard contact rails or optical switching rails. They measure 33-1/" wide (between the key cheeks) with 18-1/4" long keys. Klann Organ Supply can supply manual contact rails with silver wire contact blocks with four wires. Isolation diodes can be installed. Cables to spreader strips or junction boards can also be provided. 9 CoNSolE CoMPoNENTS Deluxe Pedal Keyboard The Klann deluxe pedal keyboard is designed to meet AGO specifications and to withstand the hardest use. The rear tension springs have steel pivot bars acting as a fulcrum and are fastened to a solid oak rail. The additional front tension springs relieve the strain on the rear rail making the pedal board very stable. The front guide pins can be rotated for guide felt wear. The sharp keys with black plastic caps can be finished in natural or black. The dimensions are 53" wide at the front, 38-1/2" wide at the back, and 34-1/2" front to back. Pedal Contact Rail The pedal underkey rail is made with four silver wire contact blocks. Isolation diodes can be installed. Wiring to a MolexTM type plug-in disconnect can be provided. The Middle E is 3" above the floor. The keyboard is equipped with magnetic reed switch rails with plug-in disconnects. This keyboard is ideal for hobbyists or that special small slave console.

11 Toe Piston - Type 1 Toe Piston - Type 2 CoNSolE CoMPoNENTS The linear transducer from Klann features a longer life of over 0,000,000 cycles and smoother, more accurate control of the swell motor. Features and specifications include easier installation on old or new swell shoes with ball swivel ends, up to 3" of travel and it works equally well with 5, 1 and 4 volt power sources. Output range is 0-3,000 ohms. New Klann linear Transducer Expression Shoes The regular expression shoe is used with a transducer, potentiometer, swell or crescendo roller. These shoes mount on a 1-3/4" x 3-1/" rail directly behind the knee panel. A shim is provided with the crescendo pedal to elevate it from the swell shoe. The multi-contact expression rollers come in two styles; one is a 1 contact swell roller that fastens directly onto the shoe and the other is a 40 contact crescendo roller that mounts on the floor of the console. Kensington Style E The adjustable console mirror is available in oak, walnut, mahogany, and birch with standard finishes. It is available with either a 1" x 4" or 1" x 8" mirror. The base is 4-1/" x 14". Console Mirrors Benches are available in three styles: Style E, Kensington and Linden (not shown). Klann benches are built in the wood of your choice and can be finished to your sample. Standard dimensions are 45" between the legs, 9" from the floor to the bottom of the heel rail, and 6-1/" seat height. One inch and half inch lift blocks can be supplied. All styles include a music shelf under the seat. Hardwood back rests are available for our benches, and they can be adapted to most other types of organ benches. Console Roll Top lock Console Roll Top Lock (with Long Bolt) Roll Top Lock -- Shallow Face (with Short Bolt) This roll top lock is designed to mount in the console cheek. Turning the key extends the bolt into the roll top. It mounts in a 7/8" diameter hole and the bolt is 3/8" diameter. Longer bolts are available. The roll top locks are supplied with two keys. Extra keys are also available. We also offer the same lock with a shallow face for a deeper inset.

The Classic Pipe Organ Control System is a universal control system for organs that can be configured to provide all control and switching functions for any size or type pipe or electronic organ. ampere Klann Organ Supply keeps a complete line of Astron power supplies on hand. The standard transformer style is available in 35, 50, and 70 ampere output in either 110 or 0 volt input (not convertible). The style with meters allows external adjustment from 5 to 15.5 volts output. The models without meters are set at 13.8 volts and have an internal adjustment of 11 to 14.5 volts. The 50 ampere and 70 ampere units are designed to install two or more units in parallel for increased amperage output. We now stock the Astron UL Approved switching power supply in 18 and 30 ampere output which is factory set at 13.8 volts without adjusting capabilities. The DC current is completely solid state regulated so there is no massive transformer. This unit will work on either 110 or 0 volts. Syndyne Dual Coil Stop Action Unit for Stop Keys Klann Organ Supply has added a long barrel LED indicator lamp. It can be mounted in a 5/16" hole without any counter bore and it has two 4" leads. The red lead is positive and the white lead is negative. Built-in resistance allows it to work on regular organ voltages without external resistors. It is available in red, green, and yellow. optical lED Light is transmitted through a light pipe flush with the face of the nameboard. This compact incandescent lamp mounts with two screws under the key desk to shine down on the pedal board and knee panel. It has a built-in switch and standard lamp cord with plug. For connecting DC power feed leads on a convenient bar. Requires square drive or a flat blade screw driver. 7 hole, 9 hole and 1 hole are available. Contact Regulation Tools The contact regulation tools come two to a set. They are very useful in regulating contacts, especially in otherwise inaccessible places. Cable Junction boards Klann cable junction boards have long been a standard in the industry. Built of poplar wood and headless brass escutcheon pins which are set in 1 note groups. They include perforated fiber strips on each side for lacing the cables. Also available are related items such as upright racks, floor frames, and legs. All are custom built to your specifications from clear poplar and voidless baltic birch plywood. Note: All chest quotations include rack boards with center holes spotted, magnets wired to junction with 5' of cable and wind inlet holes bored to customer's specifications. KLANN ORGAN SUPPLY, 301 Fourth St., City of Waynesboro, Commonwealth of Virginia, 980, warrants to the original purchaser from KLANN that pipe organ parts manufactured by KLANN shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for the following period: · 5 years warranty on all pipe organ parts and electronic components of our manufacture. the total number of months in the warranty period. The exercise of either option stated above by KLANN shall constitute a settlement in full of all claims by any purchaser and shall operate as a release of all claims for damages by any purchaser arising out of the purchase of KLANN pipe organ parts. The liability of KLANN shall not extend to interest charges or damages of any nature or description. KLANN will not be responsible for any travel charges or labor required for removal or reinstallation. The warranty does NOT extend to items not manufactured by KLANN, such as blowers, power supplies and control systems. Any items not manufactured by Klann may be subject, if at all, to warranties extended by their respective original manufacturers. Further, our warranty does not extend to unfinished wood products. This warranty, and any breach of the warranty, is waived, absolving KLANN of any liability whatsoever: (1) if the purchaser does not properly install or use the KLANN pipe organ parts; or KLANN shall repair or replace any KLANN pipe organ parts that fail through a defect in material or workmanship during the period of the warranty at no charge to the original purchaser, if, and only if, (I) KLANN is notified during the warranty period within ten (10) days following discovery of the defect and (II) the KLANN pipe organ parts are returned to KLANN in as good condition as received by the purchaser except for ordinary wear, (III) any transportation charges are prepaid by the purchaser, and (IV) KLANN finds that the KLANN pipe organ parts failed through a defect in material or workmanship. Any parts or material believed to be defective must be returned to us within ten (10) days following discovery of the defect, transportation charges prepaid, and if upon examination we find parts or material to be covered by our warranty, we will repair or replace same free of charge. The date of the original invoice shall commence the warranty period. KLANN reserves the right to charge for any repairs necessary due to improper installation or other causes beyond the control of KLANN. The "original purchaser" as the term is used in this warranty, is a person, firm or entity who first purchases the part from KLANN even if the part is intended for resale to a third party. If parts are ordered in lieu of a whole system resulting in our inability to test, it will be the responsibility of the buyer to conduct such tests and make necessary adjustments. Should technical assistance be required from KLANN ORGAN SUPPLY, we will provide telephone assistance at no charge. If the KLANN pipe organ parts cannot be made to conform to the warranty, KLANN may, at its sole option, furnish replacement pipe organ parts or refund a prorated portion of all payments made on the purchase price of the KLANN pipe organ parts based upon the ratio of the number of months remaining in the warranty period to (3) if the purchaser retains possession or continues to use the KLANN pipe organ parts after notice is given to KLANN discovery of a defect in the pipe organ parts; or () if the purchaser fails to give notice to KLANN of any defect in material or workmanship of the KLANN pipe organ parts within ten (10) days following the date any such defect is first observed during the warranty period. (4) if the KLANN pipe organ parts have been repaired, modified, or altered by anyone other than KLANN, or modified or altered by KLANN at the specific request of any purchaser; or (5) if the KLANN pipe organ parts have been misused, have been disassembled prior to use, or have been used in conjunction with other components not manufactured by KLANN which KLANN determines are not compatible with the KLANN pipe organ parts. (6) if the KLANN pipe organ part is used or installed in instruments or devices other than pipe organs. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee solid woods utilized for consoles, benches, etc. against cracking if ordered unfinished.
THE WARRANTIES CONTAINED HEREIN ARE THE ONLY WARRANTIES MADE BY KLANN ON KLANN PIPE ORGAN PARTS AND KLANN DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES (INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE). KLANN SPECIFICALLY DISAVOWS ANY OTHER REPRESENTATION, WARRANTY, OR LIABILITY RELATED TO THE USE OR CONDITION OF KLANN PIPE ORGAN PARTS NOT CONTAINED IN THIS WARRANTY. Returns Stock items can be returned within 30 days provided: Written consent is obtained. Material is in new condition. Transportation is prepaid and insured. A 15% restocking and inspection charge will apply to such returns. Custom-built equipment is not returnable. Terms Routing If possible, include shipping instructions with each order. We will not be responsible for any loss or liability arising from misdelivery in the absence of clear and appropriate shipping instructions.
