Ltd developed the PC Phone. With an intuitive G.U.I. and a small in-line
box, this enabled advanced telephony facilities such as call scheduling
etc. with the User's existing digital switch & keyset. More recently,
Citel developed a range of Handset Gateways which connect the User's
existing keysets to an IP Switch. This solution brings all the benefits
of Internet Telephony at low-cost.
Position: Electronics Design Engineer.
Initially responsible
to the Engineering Director for all aspects of hardware design and production
support. Later, following rapid Company growth, responsible to the Hardware
Manager.
Existing PC Phone development completed and production problems resolved.
Cost-reduction exercise started. Extensive on- and off-site testing
performed. BT compliance, CE certification and UL Approval obtained.
Analogue keyset interface re-designed, developed & impedance-matched
for new Handset Gateways. Custom P.S.U. specified and integrated into
product. Also designed new test rig for system loading multiple different
keysets. Many E.M.C. tests led to schematic and PCB layout refinements
required for multiple high-speed clock signals. Liased with high-volume
Manufacturers for best-practice PCB layout. As the current product range
has matured, my most recent contributions have been to detailed PCB
layout & BoM generation using Protel DXP 2004 etc.
