Over the years, we have developed a system to help you make a smooth and easy transition to our services. This kit includes everything you need for a quick change. Please feel free to stop by one of our branches or give us a call if you need assistance. Our friendly staff will walk you through the simple steps of changing your accounts to DUFCU. Quick Use the attached direct deposit form to switch your Duke Direct deposit. Hand it in to us, or forward it to Duke Payroll. 4) Close Accounts Be sure to leave your accounts active long enough to allow outstanding checks to clear. Leave enough money in place to cover these transactions. This process may take several weeks. Once you are sure the old accounts are inactive you can ask your previous financial institution to send the balance to your DUFCU checking account. Then you can destroy your old checks, debit/ATM cards and deposit slips. Make the Change
