IntelliShock 20B Installation Instructions

e in contact with an electrified fence wire
while the child was crawling through wet grass. The fence was
correctly installed and functioning properly. The energizer was
a small plug-in unit and UL approved. The fence wire was
electroplastic twinea relatively poor conductor compared to
steel, copper or aluminum wire.
We strongly caution adults to keep all small children away
from all electrified fences. Children should be warned not to
play in an area where electrified fences exist. Individuals of
all ages should take extra care to avoid accidentally contacting
electrified fences with the head and neck.

Blue case sits upon the ground stake.
Battery is shown just above the blue case, but it actually
fits inside the case.
The top of the blue case (shown with wire terminals and
solar panel) drops into place above the battery.
The gray handle on which the solar panel is mounted
acts to hold the top and bottom together.
The red clip attaches to fence and black clip attaches to
the ground stake.
EzePower 9 Volt Dry Batteries
9 volt dry batteries are a major reason that battery fence
energizers are much more popular in Europe than the
USA. Unlike wet cell batteries, theyre lightweight (4 7
lb.); small; inexpensive; reliable; can be discarded like any
alkaline flashlight battery and dont leak, spill, freeze or
damaged clothes.
Most important, their much longer usage life (compared
to D cells or wet cells) means a single battery can last all
season. Thus the need and cost for solar panels for small
energizers is minimized. (A solar panel costs more than
4 seasons worth of EzePower batteries.) Unlike wet cell
batteries, all the amp. hours listed are fully available to the
energizer. A 165 amp. hr. (AH) EzePower battery releases
165,000 milliampere hours.
They have a two year shelf life if the air seal is not
removed. Not rechargeable. Ship via UPS or FedEx at
minimal cost.

Make sure energizer is turned off
by checking the off/on button on
the end opposite the terminals.
Depressed position is on.
Open IntelliShock 20B by
sliding carry handle off.
(Battery is often shipped
inside.); if not, place battery
into 20B. Plastic blocks,
inside the 20B, can be used
to keep smaller batteries
from shifting.
Completely remove the tape from the top of the battery
(any of the EzePower batteries will fit inside the 20B case)
and release the red & black connections from their storage
space. This starts the battery reaction.
Plug the red line into the
+ plug on the bottom of the top
part of the energizer lid and the black wire into the
- post.
Place the top of the energizer back on. Slide carry handle
back on to hold the IntelliShock 20B closed.
When using the EzePower 9 volt battery either a solid or
blinking green light is acceptable.
Installation Instructions
1. Assemble Ground Rod/Support Stake and push into soil
next to the fencing you are electrifying.
2. Slide the 20B onto its support/ground rod; the taller part
of the stake slides into the slot below the terminals.
3. Loosen plastic nuts on energizer terminals until you can
see the hole in the metal bolt.
4. Insert the stripped wire end of the wiring harness (red
to fence terminal, black to ground terminal) into the
hole in the bolt and tighten the plastic nut.
5. Attach the red alligator clip onto the fence and the black
alligator clip onto the ground/support stake.
6. Your IntelliShock 20B is now ready to be turned on.
A 20B IntelliShock
solar-assisted energizer,
with a 2 watt solar panel
and 12 AH rechargeable
sealed lead acid deep
cycle battery.
The battery will still
need to be connected to
energizer/solar panel.
Open the IntelliShock 20B by sliding carry handle off.
(Battery is often shipped inside.)
Plug the wires from the solar panel into the ports on the
underside of the energizer lid.
Remove the covers from the battery terminals.
Attach the 12v battery leads to the battery terminals.
Red is positive and black is negative. (The alligator clips of
the 12v leads need to be removed if your battery has spade
terminal connections instead of upright terminals.)
Then attach the other end of the 12v leads to the solar
panel plugs that were already installed on the underside of
the lid of the 20B.
Place the top of the energizer back on. Make sure the
wires are tucked in. Slide on the solar panel (with handle)
to close the 20B (This solar panel handle replaces the
original handle.)
When using the 12 volt battery if the light starts blinking
green the battery needs recharging.

A 20B IntelliShock
energizer shown with
a 12 volt (deep cycle)
battery. The battery can
be internal or external.
The battery will still
need to be connected to
energizer/solar panel.
Has a LED meter to indicate if the fence needs checking.
A 165 AH EzePower battery can last all season (10
months) in this unit if the fence is weed-free.
More than twice the output power of many solar
energizers.
Sits on its own support stake. Does not need to hang
precariously from fence wires. Its less obvious and less
prone to theft or vandalism.
You can often double the battery life and lower costs by
adding on a solar panel.
Includes wire harness for connecting to the fence and a
ground stake. EzePower battery not included.
IntelliShock 20B
Premiers most popular battery
unit. Has no equal for ease of use
for temporary cattle fences, horse
fences and electrified netting
fences for sheep, goats & furry
garden critters.
Can be used with either a 12v wet
cell or EzePower 9v dry battery that fits
inside the case. 12v leads for 12v battery are
extra. The 12v leads are needed if using a 12v battery.
Peak output of 0.27 joules (10% less with a 9 volt battery
instead of a 12 volt battery).
20B inuse with Premiers PermaNet. Attach the black alligator clip
onto the ground/support stake and the red alligator clip to the fence.
See additional installation instructions below.

The battery will still need to be
connected to energizer/solar panel.
