1. Make sure power supply from the circuit panel is OFF.
2. Remove one of the junction box covers at either end of the
baseboard heater.
3. Connect the supply ground wire to the copper pigtail provided
in the junction box. If no pigtail is in this junction box, you will
need to move it from the junction box at the other end of the
heater to the end being wired.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
Turn the electrical power off at the electrical panel board (circuit breaker or fuse box) and lock or tag the panel board
door to prevent someone from turning on power while you are working on the heater. Failure to do so could result in
serious electrical shock, burns, or possible death.
BTF1 & BTF2
4. Connect wires according to appropriate diagram on back page.
5. Attach the thermostat to the baseboard heater with hooked edge at
top and the screw at the bottom.
6. After turning power on at the circuit panel, turn the thermostat knob
fully clockwise. When room reaches comfort level, turn knob coun-
terclockwise until the heater turns off. The heater will automatically
cycle around this preset temperature.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
Please read through these instructions before
proceeding with installation of the BTF1 or
BTF2 thermostat into a Cadet series F base-
board MULTIPLE HEATER WIRING
More than one baseboard heater can be wired in
parallel on same circuit (Be sure to check nation-
al and local codes for safety requirements).
BTF1 - 120V or 240V Supply
Disconnect A, B or C but only remove one
factory connector on each baseboard. (Left side
wiring: disconnect A or B, but not both. Right side
wiring: disconnect C only). Connect one supply
lead (hot for 120v) to the red thermostat wire.
Connect black thermostat wire to one wire on
each heater. Connect remaining wire from each
heater to the remaining supply lead (neutral for
120v). Connect ground wire to both heaters.
BTF2 - 120V or 240V Supply
Disconnect A, B or C but only remove one
factory connector on each baseboard. (Left side
wiring: disconnect A or B, but not both. Right side
wiring: disconnect C only). Connect one supply
wire to each red thermostat wire. Connect one
black thermostat wire to one wire on each heater.
Connect remaining black thermostat wire to the
remaining wire on each heater. Connect ground to
both heaters.
SINGLE HEATER WIRING
BTF1 240/208V and 120V
Cut only one factory splice on base-
board heater: A, B, or C (refer to Figure
1). Connect one supply wire to the red
thermostat wire. Connect black thermo-
stat wire to one heater wire. Be sure the
other supply wire is connected directly
to the heater wire. Connect Ground.
BTF2 240/208V only
Cut only one factory splice on
baseboard heater: A, B, or C (refer to
Figure 1). Connect one black thermostat
wire to one heater wire. Connect
remaining black wire to remaining
heater wire. Connect one supply wire to
red thermostat wire. Connect remaining
supply wire to remaining red wire.
Connect ground.
BTF2 120V only
Connect the supply hot wire (typically
black) to a red thermostat wire (refer to
small numbers on back of BTF2 switch).
Connect the neutral supply wire (typical-
ly white) to a red thermostat wire. Cut
only one factory splice on baseboard
heater: A, B, or C (Refer to Figure 1).
Connect the remaining black thermostat
wires to each of the heater wires.
Connect Ground. All 4 wires must be
used.
NOTE: Supply wire colors may vary. Reference to col-
ors assumes general standards.

BTF2 1. Cerciórese de que el suministro eléctrico del panel de circuitos esté

2. Retire una de las cubiertas de la caja de empalmes en cada extremo
del calentador de zócalo.
3. Conecte el alambre de tierra al alambre de cobre en espiral que

INSTRUCCIONES DE INSTALACIÓN
ADVERTENCIA
Desconecte la electricidad en el tablero del panel eléctrico (caja de cortacircuitos o fusibles) y trabe o coloque un cartel en
la puerta del tablero del panel para evitar que alguien vuelva a conectar la energía mientras se esté trabajando en el calen-
tador. De lo contrario podrían producirse graves golpes eléctricos, quemaduras e incluso la muerte.
BTF1 & BTF2
5. Conecte el termostato al calentador de zócalo, dejando el borde
enganchado en la parte superior y el tornillo en la parte inferior.
6. Después de conectar la electricidad en el panel de circuitos,
gire completamente la perilla del termostato en el sentido de las
manecillas del reloj. Cuando la habitación haya alcanzado una
temperatura cómoda, gire la perilla en sentido contrario a las
manecillas del reloj hasta que el calentador se apague. El calen-
tador se encenderá y apagará automáticamente según esta
temperatura preestablecida.

Es posible cablear más de un calentador de zócalo en paralelo en el mismo circuito
(Cerciórese de revisar los requisitos de seguridad en los códigos nacionales y
locales).
BTF1 - Suministro de 120V ó 240V
Desconecte "A," "B" o "C" pero retire un solo conector de fábrica en cada zócalo.
(Cableado de la izquierda: desconecte A o B, pero no ambos. Cableado de la derecha:
desconecte sólo C). Conecte un conductor de suministro (activo para 120v) al alambre
rojo del termostato. Conecte el alambre negro del termostato a un alambre en cada
calentador. Conecte el otro alambre proveniente de cada calentador al otro conduc-
tor de suministro (neutro para 120v). Conecte el alambre de tierra en ambos calenta-
dores.
BTF2 - Suministro de 120V ó 240V
Desconecte "A," "B" o "C" pero sólo retire un conector de fábrica en cada zócalo.

Corte un solo empalme de fábrica en el
calentador de zócalo: A, B o C (consulte la
figura 1). Conecte un alambre de sumin-
istro al alambre rojo del termostato.
Conecte el alambre negro del termostato
al alambre correspondiente del calenta-
dor. Cerciórese de que el otro alambre de
suministro esté conectado correctamente
al alambre del calentador. Conecte el
alambre de tierra.
BTF2 Sólo de 240/208V
Corte un solo empalme de fábrica en el
