Hypaject MKIII
The Hypaject® range of Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) machines has been in production for over 15 years and has developed from
a need to simplify the process handling of a wide variety of thermoset resins. The Hypaject® is available in a range of configurations
developed to meet the ever-increasing technical demands of our customers. The system offers a versatile package for small batch
production, research & development and aerospace type activities. Using the pressure pot principle, pre-mixed resin systems are
drawn into the machine under vacuum, actively degassed, heated (optional) and then dispensed under pressure into
the mould cavity. Processing requirements of single part epoxy materials such as Hexcels RTM6 and Cytec Engineered
Materials single part resin systems have led to the development of heated systems complete with higher levels of
control and monitoring.

2. Standard Spares Pack Part Ref: 2074
Spares kit contains a set of all serviceable seals, resin valve diaphragm, a selection of
pneumatic fittings, 4mm and 6mm nylon pipe, fuses and other spares where applicable.
3. Mould Vacuum Service Part Ref: 2085
Additional venturi driven vacuum system provides vacuum source for mould connection. Vacuum levels to 100mBar abs. System
includes On/Off switch, vacuum gauge, isolator and 6mm quick fit vacuum outlet. Controls are incorporated into main control
cabinet and system operates from internal machine air supply.
4. External Pressure Source Part Ref: 2096
System comprises 3 way stainless steel ball valve and relevant connections to separate pressure in homogenizer from air used
to operate machine control circuit. This permits connection of secondary pressure source (0-10Bar) including other gasses
e.g. Argon for use directly with the homogenizer.
5. External Vacuum Source Part Ref: 2106
System comprises 3 way stainless steel ball valve and relevant connections. This enables the use of external vacuum pumps allowing
higher vacuum levels to be reached in the Homogenizer.
6. Weight Transducer with readout Part Ref: 2117
Homogenizer is suspended from strain gauge transducer and readout is monitored on readout with 4 digit LED display unit
incorporated into the control cabinet. Weighing resolution is 1g. 0-10v analogue output is incorporated as standard. Alternative
monitoring outputs are available on request. System may be used to monitor flow rate if output is plotted against a timebase.
7. Pressure Transducer with readout Part Ref: 2124
A pressure transducer is incorporated into machine homogenizer. Full range of operating vacuum/pressure levels may be monitored and
displayed on readout unit with 4 digit LED display incorporated into the desktop control cabinet. Monitoring resolution is 10mBar. 0-10v
analogue output is incorporated as standard. Alternative monitoring outputs are available on request.
8. Internal Homogenizer Thermocouple Part Ref: 2125
K type thermocouple probe is incorporated into machine homogenizer to monitor actual resin temperature. Connector provided
outside homogenizer for connection to external monitoring equipment.
9. Readout for Internal Homogenizer Thermocouple Part Ref: 2126
3 digit LED readout unit for internal homogenizer thermocouple. Readout is incorporated into desktop control cabinet.
10. 2 Channel Heating System Part Ref: 2127
System is designed to heat resin homogenizer in two sections. System comprises one 220v 800W and one 220v 300W mica band heaters.
Power supplies and full PID control units are incorporated into the desktop control cabinet. System allows heating of homogenizer to
150° C max and control of homogenizer temperature to +/- 1° C. A heat shielded actuated injection valve is included. Two secondary K
type thermocouples are provided for monitoring purposes.
NOTE: See optional item No 13
11. 3 Channel Heating System Part Ref: 2129
As per above item, but with the addition of a 1.5m long, 3/8 heated injection hose with a 200°C capability. Power supply and full PID
control are incorporated into the desktop control cabinet. A heat shielded actuated injection valve is included and a secondary K type
thermocouple is provided for monitoring purposes. NOTE: See optional item No 13
12. 5 Channel Heating System Part Ref: 2130
As per above item, but with the addition of a heated loading melt-plate and a heated intake pipe.
Power supplies and full PID control is incorporated into the desktop control cabinet
g
Two secondary K type thermocouples are provided for monitoring purposes
g
Self-sensing, Automatic Height Control maintains the resin-load pipe/melt-plate at a consistent height below the resin surface
g
Actuated Load Valve, with control switch incorporated in the machines control cabinet
13. Resin Container Height Control (manual) Part Ref: 2131
This option consists of a pneumatic cylinder with hydrocheck motion control. This enables the raising/holding/lowering of the resin
container feeding the machine homogenizer. The control switch for this is incorporated into machine control cabinet.
NOTE: Only available as an option with item Nos 10 and 11
14. Turbo Autosprue
TM
with quick connector fittings and a heavy-duty resin feed
hose and clear drain hose or directly connected to the heated outlet hose item 11 above - Part Ref: 5856
Automatic injection valve designed to work in conjunction with all Megaject machines. The valve locks into the production mould cavity
and is controlled by the injection machine. The valve is connected to the machine nozzle (via quick connect) and upon start of injection,
the Turbo Autosprue
TM
opens, allowing mixed resin to pass into the mould cavity. On completion of injection, the Autosprue
TM
closes,
isolating itself from the mould cavity. It is flushed clean at the mix-head cleaning cycle ready for next production injection run. The valve
is complete with the necessary quick release couplings, resin supply hose, waste hose and signal pipes with connector. Also included is
the Turbo Autosprue
TM
Locksert including clip. The design ensures valve automatically closes even on air failure.
