POLICIES AND PROCEDURES - PLEASE READ
Register Early
Many programs fill up rapidly and some programs may be cancelled due to low enrollment. Please register at least two weeks prior
to program start.
No phone registration or reservations. Winter Program Guide good through March 31, 2008.
Financial Needs/Scholarships
MSCR will reduce or waive fees for youth meeting the criteria for free or reduced lunch or adults whose income is at or below
185 percent of Federal Poverty Level (see chart on the registration form). Participants are encouraged to pay a portion of the
program fee when possible. Scholarships are only available to MMSD residents. Request scholarships on the registration form and
attach a letter of request. For adult sports leagues, scholarships are available for individual player fees according to the above
criteria. Reduction or waiving of team fees will be considered by the sports supervisor, based on information provided by the
applicant. Scholarships are not available for Bus-Abouts Tours or on EZ-REG registration.
Residency
A resident resides at an address within the MMSD; a resident also includes a student who does not reside at an address within the
MMSD, but attends school in the MMSD under the Madison School Boards Open Enrollment Policy. Non-residents pay 50 percent
more than residents except for programs/activities with a different pricing structure such as senior tours, adult sport leagues and the
rental/use of pontoon boats. Non-residents may register for programs, on a space available basis, beginning December 3.
Refunds
Full refunds are made if MSCR cancels programs. Refunds (minus a $5 service charge per transaction) will only be given up to one
week prior to the start of class. Letters of credit, which may be used within one year of issue, are available in lieu of refunds. No
refunds or credits are given with less than one weeks notice. Sports programs, Day Camps and Bus-Abouts Tours handle refunds
separately.
Insurance
MSCR does not provide individual accident insurance for participants.
Accommodations For People With Disabilities (Voice 204-3025 and 204-3058 TDD)
Participants with a permanent disability requesting accommodations to participate in MSCR programs should call to discuss
necessary accommodations. MSCR asks that you register and request accommodations as early as possible to ensure necessary
accommodations can be coordinated, preferably two weeks notice. An assessment form must be completed prior to program start
date. Types of services available include: small group or individual assistance, interpreters for hearing impaired, adapted supplies
and equipment, site accessibility, communication adaptations or registration assistance. For more information, please see page 9.
