Lines- RSP-132, Public Works Department, to Municipal Services Company in a Total Annual Amount
Not to Exceed $38,881.

BACKGROUND: This project consists of cleaning and televising 46,970 linear feet of 6" through 18" sewer pipe that
has never been televised before. We televise the sewer lines to determine what condition the lines are in. We have a
five year/ten schedule to re-televise old and new sewer lines so that we can make note of any deterioration and
determine if we need to repair or replace any lines. It will allow us to gather the information from these previously
untelevised lines and input this into the Hansen Data Base so we can get a very good overall picture of our system.
Televising is also used to see if the sewer lines are at the correct capacity or if we need to increase the size to
accommodate new developments through out the city.
BID RESULTS: The bids for F/B 03-038; Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) of Untelevised Sewer Lines - RSP-132
were opened January 15, 2003 at 3:30 p.m. Fifty-Six (56) invitations were mailed out. Three (3) bids were received.

Public Works staff have reviewed the bids for accuracy, completeness and responsiveness. The low responsive bidder,
Municipal Services Company, has been contacted by Public Works staff, and they have indicated that they would like
to proceed with the project. Municipal Services Company, has provided services to the City and Public Works
previously and completed the work satisfactorily.
FISCAL IMPACTS: The Account Number for this project is 5262405620572 and funds for the construction will be
transferred from Account Number 5262405666900. There is balance of $682,589 in this account before this project.
RECOMMENDATION: Public Works recommends that F/B 03-038; Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) of Untelevised
Sewer Lines - RSP-132 be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Municipal Services Company, in
a total annual amount not to exceed $38,881, subject to compliance with bonding and insurance requirements.
ACTION REQUIRED: Bid award by Motion Action, Contract approved by Resolution.
