PROFESSIONAL SERVICES EF&I PROJECT MANAGER (Contract Position)
Description:
The ideal candidate must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment, to manage multiple customer
projects simultaneously, provide quick responses and meet aggressive deadlines. We are seeking an
extremely self-motivated, autonomous individual with a proven track record in providing a high level
of project coordination. This position will support all aspects of the EF&I (Engineer, Furnish & Install)
process including but not limited to the following:
Create partnerships with EF&I sub-contractors throughout the US
Support the development of an EF&I configuration tool
Maintenance of the EF&I configuration tool
Respond to RFP/RFQs requiring EF&I services
Coordinate EF&I projects; Liaison between the customer and the sub-contractor
Create detailed project schedules
Perform material management and logistics
Perform site surveys
Perform on-site quality audits
Create EF&I sub-contractor certification program
Create and maintain sub-contractor quality program
Requirements:
Excellent oral & written communications skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Experience qualifying, managing & maintaining EF&I sub-contractors
Experience with routers, aggregators, ATM switches, bridges, DSL modems
Experience with digital & fiber multiplexers, class 5 switches & metallic testing
Experience with engineering, installation, turn-up, test & commissioning in Central Office,
Customer Premise & Outside Plant environments
Strong technical account management, customer service and project management skills
Strong initiative is a key success factor for this role
BS/MS EE, CS, or equivalent with four years or more professional service EF&I experience
in telephony networks
Working knowledge of TCP/IP, SONET, ATM, Frame Relay, xDSL, T1, T3, Gr-303
Working knowledge of Telcordia Central Office Installation & Engineering Standards
20% travel required

Description:
This position is responsible for managing the Calix 24x7 call center to include resource planning,
scheduling and training. This position will also be responsible for maintaining and publishing key
performance indicators to measure the performance of the team as well as individuals within the
team.
Support the team as a manager as well as an individual contributor
Work independently in solving customer technical product issues and answering product
configuration questions as well as drive and influence internal issues
Must have excellent organizational and communication skills

COMPONENT ENGINEER - CONTRACT
Description:
This is a short to medium term contract position. Main duties include:
Managing all component engineering activities within the company.
Supporting new product introduction programs, AVL/AML development activities, Design for
Supply Chain (DFSC) strategies, sole & single source component projects, component End
of Life (EOL) projects, cost reduction programs and supplier qualification program
establishment.
Developing and managing OEM relationships via component selections, optimum supplier
selections, volume purchasing agreement support, and positioning Calix appropriately in the
component and distribution market place.
Supporting R&D in the selection and utilization of components and managing the
qualification of devices.
Acting as the technical interface to the supply base for technology roadmaps.
Managing supplier failure analysis and corrective action.
Requirements:
BSEE and 10 years of experience in datacom and telecom networking.
Previous materials and component engineering background required.
Extensive knowledge of multiple commodities (Actives, Passives, and Electro-Mechanical)
and strong Agile skills.
Proven track-record in the development and management of strong AMLs, inter-
departmental relationships and processes.
Excellent communication skills, team oriented.

SYSTEMS ENGINEER CUSTOMER SERVICE
Description:
This position will provide technical support via the telephone, web or at the customer
site.
The candidate must be able to work independently in solving customer technical product
issues and answering product configuration questions.
The candidate will recreate and simulate customer issues in the CS lab or on-site,
develop solutions for problems, verify new system software and hardware in the CS lab
as well as customer sites and test/verify 3
