2007 Commercial Ocean Salmon Regulations

Effective May 1, 2007)


OR/CA Border to Humboldt S. Jetty:

September 10 - 30
or
6,000 Chinook quota
- possession & landing limit of 30 Chinook per vessel per day

- all salmon caught must be landed within the area

- minimum size limit: 28 inches total length

Horse Mountain to Point Arena:
April 9 - 27
(Monday to Friday)

or
2,000 Chinook quota


- possession & landing limit:




- 20 Chinook per vessel per day: April 9 - 13; 16 - 20




- 30 Chinook per vessel per day: April 23 - 27

- all salmon caught must be landed within the area

General Commercial Regulations
All salmon except coho; no retention of steelhead trout allowed
Single-point, single-shank barbless hooks are required

No more than 6 lines are allowed per vessel
Compliance with minimum size or other special restrictions:
All salmon on board a vessel must meet the
minimum size, landing/possession limit, or other special requirements for the area being fished and the area in which they are
landed if the area is open. Salmon may be landed in an area that has been closed more than 96 hours only if they meet the
minimum size, landing/possession limit, or other special requirements for the area in which they were caught. Salmon may be
landed in an area that has been closed less than 96 hours only if they meet the minimum size, landing/possession limit, or other
special requirements for the areas in which they were caught and landed.

Transit through closed area with salmon on board:
It is unlawful for a vessel to have troll gear in the water while
transiting any area closed to salmon fishing while possessing salmon.
