MD110 Trading and Control Terminals
MD110 Trading
and Control Terminals
Trading and control
applications
The MD110 Trading and Control
Application is designed to take on
some of the most demanding
communications environments
conceivable. This advanced digi-
tal communications system was
developed to meet the highly
specialized requirements of enter-
prises and services within inter-
bank trading, public safety (police
and emergency services), public
transportation, maritime and air
traffic control and power network
control. The MD110 Trading and
Control Application incorporates
special software applications and
purpose-built end-user terminals,
which give one-touch access to
most functions and a clear
overview of all activities.
For needs that a conventional
telephone system can not satisfy,
the MD110 Trading and Control
Application has been designed
with special-purpose operator
terminals. The CTT10 touch-
screen and CTT11 hard-key ter-
minals provide users with a real-
time and comprehensive
overview of activites at the termi-
nal. The use of modern-screen
technology ensures that the infor-
mation displayed is easy to read,
regardless of the viewing angle or
light conditions. Different terminal
types can be combined in the
same system.
The Dedicated Phone 3, or DP3,
is specially developed for users
who want an easy-to-use low-
end terminal with a telephone
look. With the DP3, you have an
extremely user-friendly terminal
that supports most of the func-
tionality of the MD110 TA/CA.
The various terminals boast fea-
tures that include direct and indi-
rect access keys, multiple lines
for free dialing, macros and an
ergonomic design.
CTT10
touch-screen terminal
Screen layout
The 7 x 11 key layout is arranged
in such a way that users can
clearly distinguish between differ-
ent function areas. Users can
customize data to obtain the
optimal setup.
The CTT10 has 9 pages, each
with 32 programmable keys. In
addition, there is a fixed row of 8
DA keys to which the most fre-
quently used lines can be
assigned.
For fast and reliable operation,
the panel consists of a color
TFT-LCD screen combined with a
touch sensitive overlay. The touch
overlay requires a physical key
press.
Function keys
Users can select the function
keys they want displayed. The
most important functions are acti-
vated by single keystrokes.
Ringer tone selection
Users can decide themselves
what type of ringer tone they pre-
fer for each individual line at their
terminal.
CTT11
hard-key terminal
Terminal layout
The hard-key terminal is laid out
in such a way that users can
clearly distinguish between the
different function areas.
There are 22 pages, each with
12 programmable keys. Each key
can be programmed with a
unique alphanumeric identity.
The CTT11K consists of several
logical parts each with a dedicat-
ed function (e.g. function key
part, direct access key part).
Features are invoked through
pressing the push buttons. Status
and visual indications are pre-
sented on the keys on the color
display.
Function keys
The most important function keys
are fixed and located on the
lower part of the terminal.

Comprehensive display
information
The DP3 terminal features a 5 x
40 alphanumeric character dis-
play for data such as the time
and date, personal directory
number, incoming and outgoing
calls, calls on hold and key sta-
tus. The display is tiltable at four
angles. Information related to the
left and right handsets (monitor
speaker) is displayed accordingly.
Additional key panels
Up to four key panels, each with
17 programmable keys, can be
attached to the terminal for mak-
ing quick connections to prepro-
grammed parties.
Functions and keys
The DP3 features a number of
function keys, with the most fre-
quently used keys having fixed
positions and associated labels.
Additional functionality resides
within soft menus and is depend-
ent on the configuration of the
terminal and the traffic state.

Transfer map
The transfer map can be used to
store the internal and external
numbers to which calls are most
frequently transferred. Up to
1,225 entries can be stored on
35 screen pages.
Color selection
The CTT10 supports individual
background color settings on DA-
keys. These are typically used to
categorize groups of keys or
used to indicate different priori-
ties.
Language
The CTT10 supports English,
German and Russian at the
moment

Common terminal
features
Direct Access (DA) keys
These keys are used for fast con-
nections to and from predeter-
mined destinations. Each key can
be programmed with a unique
alphanumeric identity. Keys can
also be represented differently on
other dealer/control terminals.
The CTT11 has 22 pages, each
with 12 programmable keys.
The DP3 layout has 8 DA keys on
the main instrument and 17 DA
keys on each additional key
panel, rendering a total of 76.
Indirect Access (IDA) keys
Three keys are available for dial-
ing out using the keypad. Two of
these keys are also used for
receiving incoming calls made to
the terminals unique extension
number.
Dynamic keys
These keys on the CTT10 and
CTT11 show call activity from
hidden pages, while allowing the
user to answer and handle Direct
Access calls without changing
the page.
Macros
Macro keys on the CTT10 and
CTT11 can store a selection of
lines for monitoring. This enables
users to press one key only to
transfer to the speaker module all
of the lines selected for monitor-
ing.
Speed dialer
This is a telephone directory sys-
tem capable of storing a large
number of entries in the CTT10
and CTT11. The user can access
the entries directly or by means of
an alphanumeric search, enabling
fast retrieval of stored numbers.
Programming can be carried out
either from the terminals or from
a central PC (using the Phone
Directory tool).
Integrated monitor system
A loudspeaker system that
enables the user to monitor up to
14 lines (7 for DP3) simultaneous-
ly, with individual volume control
on each line. Users can connect
to a speech mode per individual
line, or to a preselected broad-
cast group by using either a
microphone or a handset.
Speech indicator
Activity on monitored lines can be
automatically displayed on the
associated line key or on a sepa-
rate page (speaker page) of the
CTT10 and CTT11.
Free seating
Free seating gives the user the
possibility for log-in to any dealer
position in the dealer room. The
user will get its own user profile
and system data. The free seat-
ing feature requires the dealer
position to be connected to an
external network for full opera-
tion.
If the connection is not present,
the user will only be updated with
the system traffic data. The users
personal speed dialer data and
the user profile data will not be
down loaded to the dealer posi-
tion.
Ergonomic design
Great care has been taken in
designing the CTT10 and CTT11
end-user terminals to ensure that
they have a small footprint, are
easy to use and have self-
explanatory layout. Intuitive dialog
and one-touch access to impor-
tant functions have been key
requirements in the design
process. Each user can obtain a
unique profile that can be trans-
ferred to the terminal where he or
she logs in.
The elegant design and slim pro-
file of the DP3 makes it not only
stylish, but ergonomically sound
as well. User-friendliness is
enhanced with improved func-
tionality and a human interface.
The LEDs marking the keys and
the LCD display are easy to read
at any angle, keeping users
informed about call status and
messages from other extensions.
Variety of audio devices
The terminal can be equipped
with one or two handsets, as well
as an external microphone and
loudspeaker. A built-in loud-
speaker and microphone allows
for hands-free operation. The
external speaker and microphone
can be used either for monitoring
purposes particularly for dealers
and brokers or for hands-free
functionality on the second hand-
set. Headsets can be used
instead of, or in parallel with, the
handset.
