Duties: You will serve as on-site technical expert for electrical engineering aspects of a
construction program characterized by conventional as well as complex & unique
research & development projects. Electrical systems & equipment include: high voltage
underground & over head distribution, substations, transformers stations & related
complex control & protection equipment, complete high standard commercial industrial
type of interior wiring systems & signal systems such as file, panic & security alarm
systems. Studies & analyzes electrical features of plans & specifications to become
thoroughly familiar with contract requirements. You will perform periodic surveillance
of assembly & installation to insure use of proper techniques & adherence to provisions
of plans & specifications. Confers with project engineer or inspector assigned overall
responsibility for the contract. Receive shop drawings, equipment specs, & design
analysis from contractor.
About the Position: This position is with the Baltimore District, U. S. Army Corps of
Engineers. The position is under the supervision of the Resident Engineer, and serves as
on-site technical expert for electrical engineering aspects of a construction program
characterized by conventional as well as complex and unique research and
development projects. Electrical systems and equipment include: high voltage
underground and over head distribution, substations, transformers stations and related
complex control and protection equipment, complete high standard commercial
industrial type of interior wiring systems (service equipment, feeders, branch circuits
and utilization outlet or special fixture); and signal systems such as file, panic and
security alarm systems.

Qualifications:
In addition to meeting the basic qualifications of the position, applicants must possess
one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To be qualified, candidates for this job must show in
their resume that they have training and experience in the following area(s): (1)
Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles and practices
applicable to the full range of engineering duties concerned with the installation, design
and inspection of complex electrical systems for military construction activity. (2)
Knowledge of intent of plans and specifications, and requirements sufficient to monitor
surveillance over contractor
GS-12 and above: Bachelor's degree directly related to this occupation and 1 year of
experience directly related to this occupation equivalent to the next lower grade level.
