What is InnovairFlex? How is it different
from Innovair?
InnovairFlex is a next generation duct smoke detector product
series from System Sensor. InnovairFlex offers extraordinary flexi-
bility while lowering the TCO (total cost of ownership) for custom-
ers. InnovairFlex enhances the trusted technologies of our existing
Innovair product lines with newly added features.
How does InnovairFlex provide more
flexibility to customers?
Some of the key InnovairFlex features include:
Versatile mounting options in square or rectangular configuration
with modular construction
All conventional InnovairFlex models, including NEMA4 ver-
sion, are designed to operate at a broader operating temperature
range from 4°F to 158°F and humidity range from 0 to 95%
non-condensing.
New sampling tubes for InnovairFlex allow installation or remov-
al of tubes without the use of any tools.
As many as 50 InnovairFlex detectors can be interconnected so
that when one unit senses smoke, all interconnected detectors will
switch their relays; however, only the detector sensing smoke will
go into alarm to pinpoint the fire source.
A D4S sensor-only component can be connected to a D4120
4-wire conventional model in order to allow one power board to
monitor both the supply and return side sensors without having
to place a complete detector in each location.
The above and other flexible features of InnovairFlex will allow for
easy installation and maintenance for operators.
How does InnovairFlex lower TCO (total cost
of ownership) for customers?
An easy access Test/Reset button on the detector allows testing
without removing the cover. A plug-in sensor has been developed
to provide superb false alarm immunity while facilitating operators
to replace the sensor easily when it needs to be replaced. Built-in
short circuit protection will minimize damage to the detectors from
operator wiring errors. Three DIP switches can be used to configure
field-selectable settings: cover tamper delay, number of sensors to
be controlled, and shut down on trouble option.
Combining these features with its flexibility, InnovairFlex will
provide the highest quality products at one of the lowest costs.
What InnovairFlex models will be available to
customers?
The following InnovairFlex models will be available to our custom-
ers. All models utilize the photoelectric technology.
D4120 (4-wire conventional duct smoke detector)
D4120W (4-wire conventional watertight NEMA4 duct smoke
detector)
D2 (2-wire conventional duct smoke detector)
DNR (Intelligent non-relay duct smoke detector)

Can a user separate a co-located
InnovairFlex model to use it as a sensor or
power board component only?
We understand that customers would have to overcome differ-
ent constraints during installation. As a result, System Sensor has
designed the detector that provides a flexible footprint for mount-
ing options for your various applications. However, the co-located
model was not designed nor tested to be used as a sensor or power
component only. Thus, System Sensor does not recommend nor
support separating the co-located model to be used as a sensor or
power board component only.
Customers can purchase the following individual components
(available only for 4-wire conventional model) as needed:
D4S Sensor component only
D4P120 Power board component only

System Sensor manufactures all of our products, including
InnovairFlex, in-house. At System Sensor, we create products for

What the System Sensor distribution plan for
InnovairFlex?
InnovairFlex will be available in all existing distribution channels
for System Sensor products.
