ENGINEERING CONSIDERATIONS (NOT FOR FIELD REPRESENTATIVE'S USE):
Use - For use only in (or with) complete equipment where the
acceptability of the combination is determined by Underwriters
Laboratories Inc.
Special Considerations - The following items are considerations that
were used when evaluating this product.
USR/CNR indicates investigation to the U.S. and Canadian (Bi-National)
Standard for Safety of Information Technology Equipment, Including Electrical
Business Equipment, CSA C22.2, No. 60950 * UL 60950, Third Edition, dated
December 1, 2000.
The component was submitted and tested for a maximum manufacturers
recommended ambient (Tmra) of 50
°
C.
The equipment is considered: For building in, Class I (earthed),
intended for use on a TN power system.
File E131905 Vol. 1 Sec. 112 Page 2 Issued: 2003-03-04
and Report
Conditions of Acceptability - When installed in the end-use equipment,
consideration shall be given to the following:
1.
This component has been judged on the basis of the required spacings in
the Standard for Safety of Information Technology Equipment,
CSA/UL 60950, Third Edition, dated December 1, 2000, Sub-clause 2.10,
which would cover the component itself if submitted for Listing.
2.
The power supply shall be installed in compliance with the enclosure,
mounting, spacing, casualty and segregation requirements of the end-use
application.
3.
This power supply has only been evaluated for use in a Pollution
Degree 2 environment.
4.
This power supply has been evaluated for use in a 50°C ambient. An
additional evaluation should be made if the power supply is intended to
be used in an elevated ambient.
5.
The power supply shall be properly bonded to main protective earthing
termination in the end product.
6.
The input and output connectors have not been evaluated for field
connection and are only intended for connection to mating connectors of
internal wiring inside the end-use machine. The acceptability of these
and the mating connectors relative to secureness, insulating materials,
and temperature shall be considered.
7.
Magnetic device(s) (e.g. transformer, inductor) T1 on the motherboard
employs an Unlisted Component (OBJY3) electrical insulation system
designated Class H. T2, T3, T4 on the motherboard and T1 on the PFC
board employ an Unlisted Component (OBJY3) electrical insulation system
designated Class B.
8.
The secondary outputs of this power supply are SELV, and are hazardous
energy levels.
9.
A suitable Electrical and Fire enclosure shall be provided.
10.
All tests were conducted using a DC source, except for Component Failure
Test in which 48 V dc battery is used.
11.
The unit is evaluated for Reinforced insulation between the input and
the output. Basic insulation is provided between the input and chassis
ground.
12.
Abnormal and Component Failure Tests were conducted with the power
supply input protected by a Listed fuse rated 125 V dc, 30 A. If a fuse
greater than 30 A is used, additional testing may be required.
13.
The units were tested for an input voltage of 36-75 V dc with zero
tolerance. If used outside this voltage range, additional testing may
be required.
