1: Introduction
The IAP Family of Device Servers
The Industrial Automation Platform (IAP) family provides the firmware platform upon
which a single network and protocol concurrently connects multiple devices from many
vendors.
IAP provides the automation industry with a vendor-independent, network-enabling
solution using standard Ethernet TCP/IP and standard Ethernet twisted pair cable. IAP is
the wedge whereby your current installed equipment (for example, PLCs, variable speed
drives, electronic operator panels, weigh scales, and barcode scanners) are leveraged from
the costly complex proprietary solutions offered by your various vendors.
Lantronix provides IAP Device Servers specifically designed for different industrial
environments:
u
CoBox-DR1-IAP, with a DINRail interface for harsh environments or alongside
controls instruments in electrical panels.
u
CoBox-FL-IAP, with fiber connectivity for long cable runs or electrically safe (no
copper) environments.
u
UDS-10-IAP, a compact
