STANDARD
OPERATION PROCEDURE
FOR USING THE 1910 SECURE MODEMS

Receive  1910 and modem cables kit (s) form IMB


1 (25) 
pin cable


1 (25) 
pin  RS232 M/M Gender Changer
1 (25) 
to (9) pin comport 1 adapter
1 two part APS
adapter model # KS-23821-l2


Test the modem:


Plug the appropriate
cords into the appropriate slots on the AC adapter.


Plug the three-prong
plug into an ac receptacle.
Plug the other
end into the rear of the 1910.
Apply an active
phone line to the linein on the rear of theof the modem.
The 1910 will
automatically start a self-test as soon as power is applied.

Verify that the yellow,
red and green lights come on, then go out. The display reads


(TEST IN PROGRESS  please wait.., On- hook Rmt Control ON ). Press the ready
button. 


( note: if you hear a dial tone, Proceed to step e. if not your 1910
is ready for operation.) The test is complete.        



Press the menu button once, press Next twice until display reads; main menu change config,
press Select
once display reads; change config Security config, press Next once, press Select once, display reads; RMT CTRL IS OFF turn Mt ctrl
on, press Select
once, display reads; RMT CTRL IS ON exit menu, press Menu once display will read; On-hook Rmt Control on. Press
the ready button, the unit should not respond. If it does; repeat step
e. If the unit will not display On-hook Rmt Control on. Return it
to IMB


Connect the adapters to the cable. Connect the adapters to the appropriate
connections on the laptop

       and modem. Apply
power to  the laptop.  Log onto the laptop.  Apply an
active  phone line to the


       linein on the
rear of the of the modem. Insert the modem Key horizontally and turn 
it vertically.


       The 1910 will
display operational Cik, the serial # for that key and the series of
the key  (i.e., 2-3, 3-3)      


       (NOTE) if the
Key reads Master, STOP.  You have been issued the wrong key. Turn the key
into  


       the Security
Officer.  Retrieve an operational key. On the laptop press the
SIPRNet icon. The modem 


       will turn on
Remotely. You will here the modem dial and make the connection to DISA. A black   


       screen will appear,
press enter.  Your log on screen will appear, enter your information,
press enter. If
