The REEF TOUR is a great way to see
many of the fascinating Saltwater Reef
Aquariums in the Treasure Valley. You
can start at any home on the list and visit
as many or as few as you like. We have
tried to provide driving directions from
the nearest main intersection to the home
of the aquarium. Shane and Victory

From Park Center and Broadway. Take Parkcenter to Pennsylvania.
Turn left. Make a left just after the gazabo and the apt is at the end of
the drive straight in front of you.
TANKS
120 Gallon Reef Ready AGA tank with sump. Lighting has 2 400
watt radium 20,000k bulbs plus vho actinics. Octopus skimmer,
Calcium reactor and chiller.
This tank is full of SPS corals and interesting LPS corals, including
quite a few Acans and Micromussias.
46 gal bowfront mushroom tank with the only resident being a baby
bimac octopus, "Rigby"

75 gallon reef tank, drilled with a sump. Tank currently has PC lights
on it.

From Chinden and Kent (Fairgrounds) Turn noth on Kent. Then turn
east onto Allworth then North on 52 ST. I live toward the end of 52
nd
street. There is a big rock in the front year that says Waterfront Park.
TANK
180 Gallon All Glass aquarium wtih center overflow. It has a 50
gallon acrylic sump whcih hold my pacific coast 3000 skimmer and
chaeto. My sump is feed with a 2 inch pvc line from the 180's
overflow. The 1 return line form the sump is fed by a blue line 55
external pump. The return goes thorugh a sea line platinum ¼ hp
chiller then through a 25 watt aqua uv sterilizer before it returns to the
main tank. Ther eis also a closed loop system. Water is drawn
through a 2 inch hole in the back of the main tank and goes to a 5800
gph reeflo hammerhead external pump then back out a series of ¾
inch nozzles, which provide massive water movement. The lights are
3 175 watt metal halides with 10,000k ushios bulbs and 2 160 watt
superactinic vho bulbs. The stand and canopy is hand made out of
knotty alder hardwood and stained to math our living room. My fish
consit of a large mail streamer blonde naso tank, large regal tang
(dory) Purple tang, yellow tang, lavender tang, powder brown tang. 2
clones, 6- line wrasse, goldenheaded sleeper goby, green chromis,
manderine goby, copperband butterfly, barred goby, starfigh, fire
shrimp, peppermint shrimp and snails. I have lots of Zoas,
mushrooms star polyps and afew clams. I have just started adding
SPS corals and only have a few frags so far.

From the corner of Fairview Ave and Curtis Rd. take Fairview East
two blocks, turn North on Amber St (next to Skipper's) and go three
blocks. House is on the left-hand side of the road.
TANK
60 gallon reef-ready tank was established April, 2006 with custom
made oak stand and canopy. All water is from a Kent R/O DI
unit and is feed by a Reef-Filler Dosing Pump through a Precision
Marine Kalkreactor and is dripped into the sump. A 29 gallon sump
with plennum is used and also houses an EuroReef skimmer and
Precision Marine Calcium reactor. Return flow is by two Rio 2800
pumps that feed Sea Swirls. The tank has around 30 varities of SPS
as well as a few LPS corals. Fish consists of Yellow Tang, Flame,
Potters and Flameback Angels, Fridmani Pseudochromis as well as a
Six-line Wrasse and Target Goby. Lighting is from 2 250 watt 10K
XM Halides and 4 VHO actinics. The tank is feed every other day a
variety of brine shrimp, Formula 2, Reef Plankton and Marine
Snow. No other additives are used. Other equipment includes a
Medusa temp controller, a PinPoint pH controller and monitor and a
ROWAphos reactor. Instant Ocean salt is used and maintained at
1.025, CA is between 425-450 and dkh is between 9-11. Mohri & Ryan Barizo

Focus We DIY'd this tank (where possible) in an effort to make it more automated
than our last reef, and is very much a work in progress.

90 Gallon Glass Display with built-in overflow, DIY Hood & Stand
with Travertine Accent, & Crown Moulding..
Plumbed with dual sumps & 20 gallon refugium. Tank features "dry
rock" personally collected in the S. Pacific, & cultured in the tank. Rocks are on
PVC legs/stilts to keep them off the sandbed. Sand is over difuser grate to protect
the bottom glass.

a Seio Wavemaker. Mag 9 main return pump connected to a modified 3/4"
SCWD with two return nozzles.

Heating/Cooling2 Visitherm Stealth Heaters, & cooled by 3 fans, controlled by a
Neptune Systems AquaController Jr.

Automation System is controlled with a Neptune Systems Aquacontroller Jr.
However, lights are controlled by xmas tree timers, and water movement (except
main return) is controlled by Seio Wave Controller.

Driving Directions: From the intersection of Columbia Rd and Five
Mile Rd, drive south on Five mile. Turn east on Fox Ridge Dr. Turn
right on Cross Fox. The Morell house is on the uphill side
TANKS
Tanks: 150 gallon reef aquarium. Dominated by SPS and LPS coral.
Rock work is covered by zoanthids, mushrooms and star polyps.
System has a closed loop and has VHO lighting over the display. The
sump is has a 250 watt MH for lighting.
60 gallon reef aquarium. Very nice looking tank setup even though it
is one of the most simple systems you will ever see. Tanks is
dominated by soft and LPS coral. The center piece is a large colony
of pulsing Xenia. This tank is full of baby turbo snails that grow from
larvae in the macro algae.
