Welcome

Our staff is committed to providing the very best educational experience for your
child. You can be an active partner! Encourage a positive attitude toward school and
learning, communicate with your childs teachers, and stress the importance of regular
attendance. Each of these is very important factors in determining a students success.
We sincerely hope that the 2008-2009 school year proves to be a successful and
rewarding year for your child. We encourage you to contact the appropriate school
office if you have questions or concerns as the school year progresses. We look

Orange-Ulster BOCES Mission Statement
The mission of the Orange-Ulster Board of Cooperative Educational Services
(BOCES) is to serve our component districts and community in the development of
continuous learners who will be successful in meeting the challenges of living in
our society today and in the future. We will accomplish this mission in a cost-
effective manner with a dedicated, skilled, caring staff providing quality educational
programs in a safe, nurturing and accessible environment.
We have a set of belief statements that are used in support of our Mission
Statement and guide the activities in the BOCES. They include:
1. We believe everyone can learn.
2. We believe everyone needs a feeling of self worth.
3. We believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and
respect.
4. We believe everyone deserves to be safe and secure in a nurturing
environment.
5. We believe everyone needs to experience success.
6. We believe honesty creates trust.
7. We believe achievement and its recognition are valued.
8. We believe behaviors have consequences.
9. We believe access to quality information enhances shared
understanding.
The BOCES believes that the best means to implement its mission is to
involve all stakeholders in the planning and decision making process.
The Board of Education adopts the following plan in compliance with the
Commissioners Regulation 100.11. The primary objective of the plan is
the improvement of student achievement.
