AWARD-WINNING C-SPAN SCHOOL BUS
TO VISIT NATIONAL D-DAY MUSEUM

The award-winning C-SPAN School Bus, a
45-foot television production studio and demonstration center, continues its trek around the country with a
visit to New Orleans and the National D-Day Museum.
On Saturday, March 6
th
, from 10:00am 2:00pm CT, the C-SPAN School Bus will be open for free
tours and presentations at the National D-Day Museum. The Bus will be located in the Contemporary
Arts Center parking lot, adjacent to the Museum.
The Bus is a 45-foot, traveling TV production studio and media demonstration center, specially outfitted with
television equipment, video monitors and computers. Half of the Bus serves as a mobile classroom while the
other half functions as a working production studio and interview set.
The C-SPAN School Bus embarked on its first tour in November 1993 and was joined by a second Bus on
January 1, 1996. Now on its tenth nationwide tour, the C-SPAN School Bus continues to visit schools and
cable communities to introduce local and state officials, students, educators and viewers to the political
process and C-SPAN programming. While aboard the bus, visitors will learn more about the networks
philosophy, programming goals, information and education resources and critical viewing techniques.
This visit is sponsored by Cox Communications, which provides C-SPAN on Channel 47 and C-SPAN2
