ITEM 3 - GRINNELL FIRE PROTECTION DE-REGISTRATION
OF PROGRAM
Ch. Christensen asked if Grinnell Fire Protection has formally requested
to be de-registered.
Ms. Brown answered yes, there was a written request in the agenda
packets.
Ch. Christensen asked if there were still apprentices left in the
program.
Ms. Henry, BAT, said all of the apprentices registered in the Grinnell
Fire Protection program were transferred into Local 669 registered in
the State of Nevada.
Mr. Gouker asked how many apprentices were involved.
Ms. Henry said there were five total.
Ch. Christensen asked if there was still litigation pending.
Ms. Henry said yes.
Ch. Christensen asked if this was a result of the litigation.
Ms. Henry said she was not at liberty to discuss the matters.
She was concerned that all of the records were maintained in Maryland
with no local records being kept.
Mr. Campbell asked if there was a regional office for Local 669.
Ms. Henry said there were no local sites.
Mr. Campbell said the Local 669 Training Coordinator uses his facility
for training. If the council needs to contact him, he could help

Ms. Henry said one of the problems is there are not records for selection.
Each individual contract accepts their own applications.
She suggested Local 669 could be on the agenda item for the November
meeting to explain how the program is operating.
Ch. Christensen agreed. He asked if there was any money left
in the program that was designated for training at Grinnell.
Ms. Henry said she was not aware.
Ch. Christensen said he believed in the past that this was something
the council followed up on to ensure that the funds went into a like
training program of some kind following the apprentices themselves.
He again suggested that there be someone at the next council meeting
from Local 669 to answer questions on the Grinnell apprentices, the
record keeping requirements, local office location, and if there were
any funds left from the Grinnell program for training.
Ms. Henry she would furnish the council with a copy of the original
set of standards approved for Local 669's program.
Ch. Christensen asked if he understood correctly that the selection
procedure being used was for each employer to announce and make the
