Schedule RTOU -
Residential Time of Use Rate

Rate schedule CCR is an optional rate that is designed to benefit residential customers
who average more than 630 kWh per month. Any residential customer who averages
above 630 kWh per month will see a net savings on this rate each year. Total electric
homes have the greatest potential to save on this rate, but it is not limited to total
electric homes. Homes which average below 630 kWh per month will pay more on this
rate because of a higher facility charge.

Since this is an optional rate, an authorization form must be completed for this rate.
You must remain on this rate for a minimum of 12 months. Below is a chart showing the
approximate savings you can expect on this rate. To use this chart, simply find the
usage (kWh) on the left that most closely matches your average monthly electric usage.
Follow that line across to find your average monthly estimated savings. Please note
that these savings estimates are based on average, uniform usage patterns. Your
savings would vary depending on your usage pattern and you are billed each month for
your actual usage. You may save more some months than other months on this rate.
You can use this rate in conjunction with our
budget billing
plan if you choose.

Rate schedule RTOU (Residential Time Of Use ) is an optional residential rate that is
designed for customers who are willing to use approximately half of their electricity
during off peak periods. This rate more accurately passes along the real-time cost of
energy to our customers. Electric energy is more expensive during periods of high
demand and less expensive when demand is low.

The average home uses at least two-thirds of their electricity during the on-peak
periods. Most homes would need to move a portion of their electric usage to the off-
peak times to benefit from this rate. This can most easily be accomplished by
controlling the use of items that consume larger amounts of electricity. Examples of
items that can be controlled include electric space heating, electric water heaters, pool
pumps, hot tubs, electric clothes dryers, and air conditioners. Using these items only
during the off-peak periods can result in significant savings over our basic residential
rate (
Schedule RES
). Homes that have mostly gas appliances and equipment will find
it more difficult to save on this rate.

Since this is an optional rate, an authorization form must be completed for this rate.
You must remain on this rate for a minimum of 12 months. Please note that though you
could realize significant savings, you could also pay more if you continued to use a
majority of your electricity during the on-peak periods.
