How long will the warning sirens stay activated?
Once activated, the siren will automatically cycle through a series of audio
messages and siren tones for 15 minutes. Should the National Weather
Service terminate the Tornado Warning for Shelby County, TN Collierville
Police Dispatch members will stop the siren activation.
When and how often are the warning sirens tested?
The siren system will be tested every Saturday at noon. These tests will be
an audible test of the entire siren system and will consist of an audio test
message followed by a siren signal that is continuous and steady in nature
for approximately 1 minute. The sirens will not be tested in inclement
weather.
