Leadership Extends Throughout NCTA 2003 and Around the
Windy City

HORSHAM,
Pa., June 5, 2003 Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) Broadband Communications Sector today
announced an expanded presence at NCTA 2003, reflective of the companys leadership in providing its
broad portfolio of broadband solutions. Motorolas widespread presence will enable the company to connect
with show attendees throughout the convention center, providing a full overview of how Motorola
technologies make things simpler, smarter, safer, synchronized, and funin the home and beyond.

Motorola technology will be showcased in multiple locations throughout the show, including its own
connected home display (booth #119) and in new, show-sponsored areas such as the HD Pavilion. In
addition, Motorola has been selected to be the shows exclusive Wi-Fi® technology provider, enabling
wireless Internet access in a designated area called the Wi-Fi Park. A first for NCTA, the park will allow
attendees with wireless-enabled devices to stay connected to the home or office while attending the show.

Motorolas broadband technologies can also be found beyond the McCormick Convention Center in
Motorolas nationwide retail footprint, including Best Buy, Circuit City, and Office Depot locations in the
Chicago area.

Show attendees can connect with Motorola at the following locations:

Exclusive Technology Provider for the Wi-Fi Park.
Motorola is the exclusive provider of technology for the Wi-Fi Park, an area on the show floor
where attendees can go to tap free wireless Internet connections. Ten Motorola SBG1000
wireless gateways which combine a Motorola SURFboard® cable modem, wireless networking
access point, Ethernet router and switch, print server, and advanced firewall, all in one unit are
powering wireless Internet access for attendees.

At Home in the HD Pavilion
The Motorola DCT6208 the industrys first fully integrated solution for HDTV, PVR, and advanced
interactive features will showcase HD content from cable networks and broadcast outlets in the
living room area of the HD Pavilion. Motorolas popular DCT5100 will also be shown. Produced
by NCTA and CableLabs®, the HD Pavilion is an 8,000 square foot demonstration of a variety of
HDTV equipment.

And in ESPN Networks Booth #948.
ESPN Networks will demonstrate its exciting new HD simulcast service, ESPN HD, using the
Motorola DCT6208. The ESPN HD 24-hour high-definition service will televise a combination of
live events and sports news and information, all encoded through Motorola DigiCipher® II
conditional access technology.

Motorola and Microsoft in Booth #931.
Microsoft will demonstrate Microsoft TV platform software running on the Motorola DCT2000 and
DCT2500 digital set-tops.

Motorola and Vonage in Booth #1450.
Vonage will demonstrate its exciting new broadband phone service utilizing a Motorola VT1000
multimedia terminal adapter (MTA).

On the Speaking Circuit.
Six Motorola executives will speak on a variety of topics during the conference sessions. Mark
DePietro, Motorola vice president of marketing and systems engineering, digital core gateways, will
be part of the Sunday, June 8 panel discussion (4:00 p.m.) entitled, Everything but the Kitchen
Sync: Cable's Amazing Set-Top Box. The session will highlight the evolution of the set-top as the
cornerstone for digital transition and HDTV, and participants will share their vision of the future of
the set-top.
