Any
American or Foreign 1970 or later 4 cylinder cars, except for Station
Wagons or Convertibles. No 6 cylinder engines. No turbo
or fuel injection cars. No multi carburetor engines. No
rotary or mid engine cars. No Cosworth engines. Two wheel
drive cars only. May be rear or front wheel drive car.
WEIGHT
Must
weigh one pound per cc. CC must be painted on the hood or car
will be disqualified for that nights event.
BODY
After
market body is optional. No fiberglass body or body parts.
Front fire wall, floor pan, roof and roof pillar post must remain stock
and in stock position. No extending of quarter panels or rocker
panels. No sharp edges on car or bumper. Hood and trunk
must have hood pins. Hood may have hole for air cleaner clearance
only. May use steel or aluminum for hood material. Nose
may be rubber or plastic. Spoiler will be measured from bottom
or rear deck lid to top of spoiler max. 6. Cutting of interior
body panels okay. Door panels can be removed for roll cage.
Front inner panels can be removed. Trunk and fuel cell area must
be tightly sealed from driver compartment. Removal of all glass
and door handles, chrome, and all mirrors, headlights and tail-lights
is mandatory. Must run screen or bars in place of windshield.
Windshield bars must be 6 inches or less between bars. Window
net must unhook on the top only.
FRAME
For
roll cage requirements, call 863*381*0212 for class
specs. No off set roll cages. Racing aluminum seat only.
Must be mounted to roll cage. Five point racing harness must be
attached to roll cage. Minimum ride height four (4) inches on
all four corners. No bracing or reinforcing of any part of car
allowed unless stated in the rules. Cars may have factory bumpers
or may be made of 1-3/4 inch steel tubing no more than 1/8 inch thick.
No reinforcing behind bumpers. No railroad tie or iron.
Radiator loop may not be more than 4 from front of radiator.
Radiator must be in stock position. Tubing allowed on the underside
of the car to make the car more rigid. Can not extend any further
than rear spring mounting brackets. Weights must be bolted down
with a minimum of two ˝ bolts.
SUSPENSION
No
modifying of any suspension parts unless stated. Stock type racing
shocks, racing springs, lowering blocks, jacking bolts are okay.
No coil over shocks. Adjustable top strut mounts okay. Upper
and lower control arms can be modified but must remain stock.
Can shorten or lengthen upper arms on rear end. Can run adjustable
shackles and sliders in rear.
STEERING
(OPTIONAL)
ENGINE
Must
remain stock unless stated. Must remain in stock location.
Piston may be Flat top. Any steel rod. Stock crank.
No after market crankshafts. No altering of crankshaft for the
purpose of changing stroke. Any stock production head. Any
blocks or heads with altered or missing casting numbers are illegal.
No 4 valve or dual spark plug heads. Valves-Stock type valves,
size optional, may be stainless. Three angle competition valve
job okay. ľ bend from 45 degree angle on seat. If porting,
relieving or polishing of head or intake manifold, must add 100 lbs.
In front of the flywheel. Solid or hydraulic cam not to exceed
560 lift at valve. Will check with .025 lash. No roller
cams. No roller rockers. After market intake okay.
After market pulleys okay. No more than 2555 cc motors.
CARBURETOR
Any
stock Holley carburetor up to 500 CFM. (1 adapter plate okay).
EXHAUST
SYSTEM
Headers
required. Must exit parallel to the ground.
TRANSMISSION
Transmission
must be stock factory type for that year, make and model. No racing
or after market transmissions allowed. Must have an inspection
hole where tech crew can easily view internal bell housing assembly.
Must have forward and reverse gears. Standard or Automatic optional.
DRIVE
SHAFT
Stock Production type.
No aluminum.
Drive shaft loops will be a 5 diameter steel loop, 1 wide and Ľ
thick.
Drive shaft loop must be securely mounted to frame 12 from the rear
universal joint.
Drive shaft must be painted white.
REAR
END
Any
passenger car rear end can be used as long as it is no wider than stock
rear end and is mounted in the same way as original.
BRAKES
Must
remain as it left from the manufacturer for that year, make and model.
No bias adjustment or bias adjusters of any kind. Must have four
(4) wheel operating brakes. No rear disc brakes. Brakes
must be in good operational condition.
WHEELS
Larger
wheel studs and lugs mandatory. Steel wheels only 13x8.
Steel after market wheels are permitted. Wheels/tires may be 23x8x13
or 22.5x 8x13 Hoosiers or American Racers. Tires may be bought at track.
IGNITION
Ignition
system must be 12 volt ignition only. No crank fired ignition.
Battery must be self contained and securely mounted in battery tray.
Battery box must be mounted solid to frame. Must have a battery
cut off switch that also shuts down the motor when turned off.
Battery cut off switch must be located on the drivers side, behind
driver, helmet level where safety crews can easily find. Switch
must painted orange. All cars must be self starting at all times.
FUEL
Fuel
cell mandatory. 10 minimum ground clearance. Fuel cell
must be exactly the same as the diagram in Safety section of years
Rule Book. Fuel line may run inside the cab of the car but must
be high quality steel braided line or run inside a sealed conduit assembly.
Electric fuel pump allowed. Metal ring must be grounded to frame.
Pump gas only no additives of any kind period!!!! 100 octane
max.
