Cal State Long Beach offers a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Technology (BSET). BSET has several program options such as computer
technology, electronics technology, environmental technology, manufacturing
technology, and quality assurance technology. Students get a hands-on
experience in circuit board design in computer- assisted drafting and
information systems. They also learn how to operate lathes, milling machines
and modern test equipment. The department also offers 2 certificate

Computer Assisted Design (CAD)/Manufacturing (CAM)
Cerritos College offers one of the most extensive CAD and CAM programs
using the latest software available. The programs are designed to serve
beginner as well as advanced CAD and CAM students. Professors teach
students about the finer points of mechanical drafting, tool design, and sheet
metal. Some of the courses offered include blue print reading, design and
production technology, and architecture.

Machinist Training Program
The Cerritos College machine tool technology program covers the entire
spectrum of the modern machine trade including math, inspection, blueprint
reading, metallurgy, machine tool, and basic machine operation. The
program provides training on state-of-the-art equipment and prepares
students for jobs in the aerospace, commercial, and maintenance machinist
trades.

The program trains students in the electronic drafting field, trains students to
prepare schematic diagrams, block diagrams, control drawings, logic
diagrams, integrated circuit drawings, inter-connection diagrams, and trains
students how to use drafting machines.

Machinist
This program trains students for employment as machine tools operators.
Skills taught include: how to use necessary hand tools; how to perform bench
work measurement and layout; how to operate drilling machines, lathes, and

Los Angeles Trade-Technical College offers an associate in science degree in
machine shop/CNC. The program provides students training in the
