Greetings:
K.S.A. 75-7c16(b) of the Kansas Personal and Family Protection Act, also known
as the concealed carry handgun law, requires the Attorney General, on or before January
1 of each year, to submit a statistical report to the Governor, President of the Senate, the
Senate Minority Leader, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the House
Minority Leader indicating the number of licenses issued, revoked, suspended and denied
during the preceding fiscal year and the reasons for the revocations, suspensions and
denials.
In Fiscal Year 2007, the Office of Attorney General received 9,346 applications
and issued 8,410 concealed carry handgun licenses. During that same period 70
applications were denied, 5 concealed carry licenses were suspended and 5 were revoked.
The remaining 866 applications were still being processed at the end of FY 2007.

3 Temporary restraining order filed against licensee (license revoked until the
restraining order is lifted)
1 Final protection from abuse order (PFA) filed against licensee (license is
revoked for a minimum of 1 year from the date of the final order)
1 Licensee found guilty of possession of marijuana (license revoked for 5
years from the date of court disposition)
A graph depicting the distribution of FY 2007 applicants by age and gender is
attached for your information. Also attached is a chart depicting the status of all
applications received through November 30, 2007. The chart is updated monthly and
posted on the concealed carry web site at www.ksag.org.
