Prefere ntial Volunteer R egistration a nd W aiting List Proce dure
Foster City AYSO becomes more popular each season. AYSO is a 100% volunteer organization
and without an adequate number of coaches and referees, we m ay not be able to form enough
teams and facilitate games to accomm odate all players. In such event, registration priority will be
given in the follow ing orde r: C hildren of volun teer co ac he s, assistant co ac he s, referee s and ac tive
board mem bers, followed by all others on a first-come, first-served basis. Team sizes are lim ited
to comply with short-sided games for younger divisions and minim um gam e playtim e for each
player.
To becom e a volunteer coach, assistant coach or referee, the volunteer must complete training as
required by AYSOs National Guidelines, including safe-haven training. This training is offered
prior to the fall season and throughout the year free of charge. Training schedules are posted on
the calendar section of the Foster City AYSO website.
Any waitlisted player will not have their registration fees deposited into our bank account until such
tim e as they have been assured of a spot in the league.
