GAS GAS, A COMPANY TIED TO SPORTS SUCCESS
sive experience in the world of competition,
where he has been for thirty-five years, is the man in charge of
the technical side. Surrounded by motorbikes since very young,
Gillens aim for the competition programme is clear: To make
the simplest, lightest and most powerful bike possible in order to
beat our rivals, because participating is not enough, youve got
to win.
The first of the sports programmes, maybe the most widely
known although not necessarily the most important, is trial, led
by six-time World Champion Adam Raga (GG TXT R閜lica Raga).
Raga has managed to keep at the same level of competitiveness
as the young espoirs who have come behind him and as the te-
chnical developments of the rival mounts. With a two-stroke bike,
undoubtedly the most competitive in the world championships,
he is still among the elite, winning trials and contending for the
championships.
But GAS GAS are also supporting other riders who, as semi-works
pilots, help the manufacturer gather points for the manufactu-
rers title in Spanish and international championships. Marc Freixa
(GG TXT 300) and the team GRO-Non Stop Bikes count on the
total support of the Catalan manufacturer and so they are ente-
ring both the Spanish Championship and the European and World
Championships. Another example is the support to the team for-
med by Jordi Tarr閟s pupils, showing that GAS GAS are not only
thinking about the present, but also about the relay, the future.
The company is sponsoring the young espoir project organised for
the second year by the Spea Tarr閟 Trial Team, which is entering
the Junior Catalan, Spanish, European and World Championships,
with remarkable results in all of them in the hands of Francesc
Moret, Pere Borrellas and Pol Tarr閟 (GG TXT 125). At the same
time, and with the support of the dealers in several countries, GG
are supporting many young riders who, in most of the cases, are
winning their countries championships.

Regarding the enduro, with a project that intends to reach the highest targets, GAS GAS count on the
official representation in the World Championship classes E2 with Frenchman Nicolas Deparrois and
E3, with another French rider, Cristophe Nambotin, the current Junior runner-up who is astonishing ever-
yone with his performance at the start of the season with already some win and top ten finishes in his
account. The secret to these results is undoubtedly the light weight and manoeuvrability of the GAS GAS
EC 300 and 450 with 2 and 4 stroke engines respectively.
Apart from their official participation in the international trial and enduro championships, GG dont cease
to make headway in other types of competition. After having a works quad team in several rounds with
good results in cross, Baja and raid events, GG are supporting several initiatives by their dealers, such as
the one led by German Wim Oerlemans, who has prepared the competitive 515 Desert which already
competed with a good result in The Legend of Heroes which they will use in the coming season to
participate in the new Dakar Series.
