Guardian monitors and evaluates
up to 24 key points of potential test
system failure or nonperformance,
in order to guard against unfounded
UUT (Unit Under Test) failure
and to avoid damage to the UUT
or the test system itself.

VXI Alert Status Monitor
Specifications
Guardian monitors and evalutes
up to 24 key potential points of
failure, including:
VXI Voltage Monitor
Monitors all seven required VXI
chassis voltages, feeding back status
data to the station or VXI cardcage
CPU. Voltages not utilized in a par-
ticular system are ignored.
Watch Dog Timer
Monitors CPU functionality or
control system status.
Thermal Switch Inputs
Thermal switch inputs are avail-
able to monitor the VXI cardcage
and cooling fan thermal switches to
avoid overheating. Data is fed back
to the station or VXI cardcage CPU.
Interlock Inputs
Two interlock inputs are available
to monitor the Start/Stop control
of the Test Program Sets (TPS). In
addition, they provide UUT inter-
lock control as well as ITA inter-
locks.
UUT PS Interlocks
Isolated SPDT relay contacts are
available for UUT power supply
interlocking and are controlled by
the VXI cardcage CPU. A manual
override will bypass this feature.
UUT PS Gating
TTL driven SPDT relay contacts
are available to gate external power
supplies on/off.

Four SPDT relay contacts are
provided for the Watch Dog Timer,
Power Supply Voltage Monitoring,

LED indicators on the module
front panel provide VXI RUN/FAIL
status.
Reset Switch
A front panel mounted panic
button switch is provided for
VXI system reset. An external reset
input is available for VXI reset from
an external location.

Self Testing
Like all ASCOR VXI Modules,
the Model 3000-16 incorporates
internal self test hardware which
includes the ability to test, read
back and verify the integrity of the
program control circuitry, including
the relay coils within the Module.
All ASCOR VXI Modules also
feature a unique built-in service
record, for tracking repairs to the
Module by time and date the repair
was actually performed.
ASCOR also provides a 3 year
limited warranty on all VXI
Modules.
The CE Mark indicates
that the product has
completed and passed rigorous
testing in the area of RF Emissions,
Immunity to Electromagnetic
Disturbances and complies with
European electrical safety standards.
