Protect Your Electronics and Expensive
Appliances from Power Surges with
The power of electricity brings you hot water for a
warm bath, lights to read by at night, the entertain-
ment of television, and heat in the winter. To
make life better for you and your family, appli-
ances need a certain electric voltage to operate.
SMECO designs its electric system to sup-
ply the right voltage for your home; however,
power lines, telephone lines, and television
cables can also provide a path for power surges.
Surges can be caused by storms, lightning, and
auto accidents, and they can damage computers, televi-
sions, and other sensitive electronic equipment.
Home appliances like air conditioners,
refrigerators, and washing machines can
withstand some voltage surges, but even
these heavier appliances can sustain damage.
StormSentry can help reduce your exposure to
possible surges that could damage your appliances
and interrupt your daily routine.
Enroll me in SMECOs StormSentry program and install a surge arrester on the electric meter at the
service address below. I understand that SMECO will bill me $5.25 per month plus tax on my elec-
tric bill. I understand that if I cancel StormSentry within the rst year, I will be charged $50 to cover
the cost of installation and equipment.
You will receive a FREE plug-in surge protector of your choice. Select one of the following:
unit with two electric receptacles and a telephone/modem connector.
unit with two electric receptacles and a television cable/antenna connector.
(This unit will not safeguard satellite dishes. Call SMECO to order an appropriate model for this purpose.)
