PCA EXCEL one4all ballasts provides eye sensitive
dimming over a wide range, from 1 % or 3 % to 100 %
and a programmed lamp start feature, which saves on
lamp wear. In digital DSI and DALI mode, various
operating parameters can be changed and stored
dynamically within the ballasts memory. In the event
of a lamp failure, the ballast can report an error mes-
sage. The integration of this information in control
networks (e.g. Lonwork based systems) means that
completely new service concepts can be realized.
switchDIM, digital DSI and digital addressable DALI
controls, universal input voltage (120277 V)
and excellent dimming performance are all standard
features of the PCA EXCEL one4all. All the standard-
ized functions such as individual programming
(64 addresses), group programming (16 groups),
scenes (16 scene values), fade time and fade rate
are, of course, available in the DALI operating mode.

one4all combines three unique functions in a single device: simple switch control
using switchDIM, the tried and tested flexible system using digital DSI or individually
programmable solutions using digital DALI. PCA EXCEL one4all adapts easily and
automatically to the relevant lighting management solution.
PCA EXCEL one4all communicates with the relevant control
system via two control wires regardless of whether you are
using the switchDIM, DSI or DALI system. The wiring is always
the same and the device recognizes the correct control signal
automatically and makes the necessary intelligent adjustments.

The fourth generation of digital PCA EXCEL one4all
ballasts from TridonicAtco was developed after ten
years experience in the field of digital lighting solutions,
and millions of installed digital dimmable ballasts. It
gives the user a range of dimming solutions for the
T5 high output and high efficiency lamps, T8, BIAX
and CFL lamps; tried and tested, simple single pole
momentary switch controls with switchDIM, flexible

switchDIM
Digital tunning for your light switch
switchDIM offers the most simple and cost-effective
possibility to switch and control TridonicAtco dimmable
ballasts. All you need is a standard momentary switch
and a dimmable ballast from TridonicAtco.
As conventional as this solution appears, when it
comes to functionality, with switchDIM there is no
need to compromise. Advantages such as control
from several remote-points, powerless switching via
control-wire are just some of the features.
DSI technology
The digital DSI signal is used for communication between
DSI control modules and digital dimmable DSI control devices.
The dimming commands consist of 8-bit information, which
corresponds to a precise dimmed value.

switchDIM technology
The switchDIM control-signal corresponds to the
line voltage. Depending on how long the connected
momentary switch is pressed the PCA EXCEL one4all
interpretes this signal either as a dimming or a
switching command.

DALI
What is DALI?
The DALI interface standard is a protocol for digital
communication between lighting control devices. DALI
enables 64 control devices to be addressed individually
and freely divided into 16 lighting groups and 16 light-
ing scenes. TridonicAtco has developed the DALI stan-
dard in conjunction with other leading ballasts manu-
facturers. This unified standard guarantees compati-
bility and provides for the future expansion of lighting
control.

The DALI control wires to the ballasts, along with those from the
control devices, which could be powered by the DALI control line,
can be run parallel to the mains or within the same conduit as the
mains. Identification of the DALI pair is not as critical as analog
circuits as the DALI control signal has no polarity. The functional
assignment of luminaires to lighting groups (with PCA EXCEL one4all)
and to the control switches is not defined until after installation,
guaranteeing maximum design freedom and flexibility even after
commissioning.
DALI technology
The DALI protocol consists of 19 bits of data that al-
lows up to 64 devices or luminaires to be individually
addressed as well as providing status information
and a variety of adjustable parameters (fade time,
fade rate ) etc.

Fully digital, electronic ballasts
for the dimming of fluorescent lamps
Digital lighting control adapted to eye sensitivity with
1 % or 3 % up to 100 % luminous flux. Combines
three unique control protocols via the same terminals.
The simplest possible switch control system with
switchDIM; interference free, precise control via DSI
signals or individually addressable control via DALI
(Digital Addressable Lighting Interface). Fully electronic
lamp management and digital communication by
means of ASIC and µC. Constant luminous flux regard-
less of fluctuating in supply voltage (108 to 305 V).
Warm start in 1,0 s or 1,5 s, which minimizes lamp
