premier source for engineered wire
and cable used in the demanding
applications of the Military,
Shipboard and Electronics
Industries. Our specialties include
the manufacturing of high-
performance products for the
military, shipboard, aerospace and
electronic industries. We provide
the highest quality wire and cable
engineered to be resistant to the
effects of extreme temperatures,
moisture, corrosion, flame,
chemicals, radiation,
environmental and other industrial
hazards. Over the years, numerous
high-performance proprietary
products have been developed to
meet these demanding needs,
including Filaflex, LSZH, Exane
®
and Cross-Link Electronic products.
Development of this broad range
of products has led to significant
experience in providing superior
service to industries requiring wire
and cable for demanding
applications.
Our cables successfully perform on
the ground, at sea, in the air and in
space. They are installed in aircraft,
off-shore oil platforms, military
ships, armored vehicles,
permanent or mobile structures,
mining machines and satellites in
space. They work in the intense
heat of steel and glass making
industries.
Reliable performance in
the most demanding
environments is our
trademark.
In addition to meeting rigorous
standards in the wire and cable
industry, RSCC and PMC products
are RoHS compliant (the European
Union Directive 2002/95/EC on the
restriction of certain hazardous
substances in electrical and
electronic equipment), within the
parameters established by
governing entities. For a complete
RoHS explanation, please contact
our sales department.

In 1918, the Marlin Rockwell Corporation
acquired patents for insulating electrical wire and
created its Insulated Wire Division in New Haven,
Connecticut. Several years later, the name changed
to Rockbestos Products Corporation. In 1996, the
Rockbestos-Surprenant Cable Corporation was
established by merging Rockbestos with the
Surprenant Manufacturing Company, founded in
Massachusetts in 1935. The corporation widened its
scope by investing in irradiation technology.
In recent years, Rockbestos-Surprenant has
consolidated its operations to two sites in East Granby,
CT, and Manchester, NH. The foundation of this
consolidation is to fully embrace the cellular approach
by servicing our customers and market segments.
The company built a new factory to house its
military/shipboard and metal clad cells. Three new state-
of-the-art electron beam irradiation units were installed in
building 20 of the East Granby complex. These new
irradiation units have positioned RSCC as having the
largest cable irradiation capabilities in North America.
