Circuit City will have the privilege of working with Chartisha Winston in 2006,
building a home together that will house Chartisha and her two daughters, Tianna,
age 6, and Tamyah, age 2. Providing a safe and secure home for her kids is her
main reason for applying for a home, she says.

Chartisha works at Parham Health Care Rehabilitation Center as a CNA. She
has been employed there for over 4 years and loves the interaction she gets with
her patients. She teaches people to eat, walk, and take care of themselves after
an injury. Her favorite part is listening to the stories that her patients tell and
getting to know them.

When asked what she does in her free time, Chartisha joked that she spends it in
the ReStore or onsite, doing sweat equity hours. Aside from that, she says that
she mostly enjoys spending time with her family and is close to her mother,
grandmother and her children. She describes Tianna who attends JEB Stuart
Elementary School, is very smart and as a neat freak and very preppy Her
younger daughter, Tamyah, is more outgoing than her sister. She is very
talkative and likes to dress herself.
The family attends Woodville Church of the Nazarene, and Chartisha enjoys
listening to the speakers from St. Pauls Baptist church. Two year old Tamyah
already can say Gods gonna work it out!

Chartisha says that shes been putting off applying to Habitat for the last 4 or 5
years and is so glad shes finally done it! She says that shes learned a lot
already and that the education classes have been very helpful. She thinks that
Habitat is wonderful because you get the opportunity to do things youd never
get to do, and says that where shes from, You never buy a home! She is
thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Circuit City and thanks everyone who
will have a part in helping her achieve homeownership.

Richmond Habitat staff and Circuit City employees attend the corporate launch event for
the 2006 build.
