the proposals that were presented.
UPDATE ON HIGH SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION:
The Board was provided its monthly update on the progress of construction at the high
school.
All but two of the portables are now occupied and the restroom should be on-line
by Thursday, February 9. (It arrived with frozen pipes which had to be
repaired/replaced.)
The two computer labs were moved and are up and running.
All of the interior classrooms have been moved.
Work is continuing in the boiler room and mechanical rooms.
Because of inaccurate original plan drawings, new main electrical service will
need to be installed at the estimated cost of $80,000-$140,000 which will come
from the contingency building fund built into the budget.

DECISIONS:
The JRES Bus Turnaround
The parking and traffic at Jeremy Ranch Elementary has been studied for two years.
Steve Oliver presented the conclusions of that study and the proposed plans that have
been subsequently developed from those conclusions. The Board reviewed those plans
and authorized the administration to proceed with the bidding process. Insurance Consultant
Through a process that included an RFP and provider presentations to an RFP
Committee, a recommendation for an Insurance Consultant for the district was proposed
to the Board for approval. The Board approved the recommendation.
Adjustment to the Board Calendar
Due to the conflict of mass meetings on March 21 and the importance of these meetings
to the democratic process in this state, it was suggested that the regular board meeting
scheduled for March 21 be combined with the work session scheduled on March 28, a
one-week delay. The Board approved this calendar adjustment.
Procurement of Additional School Buses
Approval was given by the board to allow the district to proceed with the purchase of five
new busses to keep the fleet of 27 busses current and operational.
Policies for Posting
The Board approved for posting Policies GCF Conditions of Employment for Newly
Hired Licensed Personnel, and GDBD Unpaid Leave of Absence Full-Time
Nine/Twelve Month Classified Employees.
Board Self-Evaluation
The Board discussed different options to find its preferred evaluation tool for the Board
self evaluation. This tool would then constitute a basis for discussion and, subsequently,
lessons for the future.
